Hooo, it has been one hot summer so far, and I'm not sure August is going to be any cooler! We've been dealing with a heat wave here on the east coast, so I hope everyone is managing to keep themselves cool. To my readers in the southern hemisphere: I hope you're enjoying winter, and I'm jealous!

I'm really excited to finally get Steel & Thunder Book 5 out to you all. I feel like it's been forever since my last book. I've certainly had a lot happen since then. This will be the first book I've finished since my friend David's passing, and the first book he never got to finish. I actually just celebrated his birthday a few days ago, actually. Happy birthday, David! I hope you like the book.



Still all clear on the health-front as well. I quite literally have one final test/scan to get done, and that's it - if it comes back good, I am all in the clear! This whole thing has been pretty scary, but I'm really happy to say I've felt perfectly fine ever since. And hopefully this is the last I ever need to talk about it!

June 2025

Summer is almost here readers, and I am happy to report that I am just about back to my old self!



While I haven't been given a completely clear bill of health, I'm getting close to it. I have tested negative for any remaining traces of h. pylori, and the results of my various scans have all come back good so far. Still, because of the amount of blood loss that occurred, my doctors are still concerned something else is going on, and I have a few more things scheduled to hopefully figure it out.



But in the meantime, I have been feeling great, just like I did before my trip to the hospital. I am also happy to report that I have finished with my move, which also went very smoothly. I am still unpacking and setting things up, but it feels really good to have a chance to just breathe and enjoy the calm.



I'm taking one final month off, just so I can finish putting my things in order. I have given final approval on the typesetting proof of Distance & Dragons, and should have preorders and a cover for you soon! Once again, thanks for all of your patience while I put my life back together. Looking forward to filling your minds with smutty fun again real soon!

Happy May, Readers! It has been a quiet month in the Ashen household as I continue to deal with last month's medical issues. I'm also in the middle of moving, which was proceeding along very well... right up until my partner sprained and possibly broke his ankle. Patreon subs have been paused for another month while I finish up this move and hopefully wrap up my health issues as well.



On the medical front, I was officially diagnosed with contracting a nasty bacteria known as H. Pylori. One of the main problems it can cause is creating bleeding ulcers in your stomach. I was put on a particularly rough series of antibiotics for two weeks, where I was taking over 15 pills a day, every day. However, while that may have been the cause of some of the bleeding, the doctors are still worried by the amount of blood I lost that something else may still be going on. So more tests are on the way!



I also have some book news for you all! Distance & Dragons is officially in with the typesetter, so I should have a release date, a cover reveal, and preorder links for you all very, very soon! I've also started my research work for my next book, which I can't wait to share with you all. I'm getting back into the full swing of things, so there is a lot more to come this year!

Hello Readers, and welcome to April!



Bit of a different news post today, and if you read the title, you've already got an idea why. To summarize: last week, I got very, very sick. It started at the end of the week with some stomach aches, and at first I thought I was maybe dealing with the flu or even Norovirus. But then I continued to get worse, and ended up having to be taken to the ER and hospitalized for three days.



Turns out I had some serious internal bleeding going on for three or four days at that point, and was still losing more. I had to have FOUR bags of blood transfused just to bring me back up to normal levels. I cannot tell you how thankful I was for partner, friends, and family, that were there for me when I really needed them.



The good news is that eventually the bleeding did stop, and I am now home and recovering well, slowly but surely getting back to my old self. The bad and frankly kind of scary news is that we still don't actually know the cause. I had an endoscopy done, and no source of the bleeding could be found. I've got plenty of follow-up tests now scheduled, but it's still pretty nerve racking not knowing what happened.

Hello readers, and hello March! Sorry for the terrible rhyme. Not a lot going on this month, but I do have some good news, and some bad (mostly for me, not you) news. And I prefer giving bad news first.



So first up, the bad news. If you couldn't tell from the title: I am once again having computer problems. It seems to be the same issue as last time, a problem with the processor, which is unfortunately probably the most important part of a computer. This has caused a slight delay with me finishing the maps for Distance & Dragons, but should not affect it too much. The fix should not take nearly as long as it did the time before this either, so I'll be back at full speed before the next newsletter hits your mailbox.



Now for the good news: I decided on which book I'll be writing next! Still working on the title, but I am now in the planning stages for the sequel to The Crown and the Collar/Kingdom of Claws #2. You can expect more werewolves, more court intrigue, and of course more of Peter & Max. I've got this series already planned out as a trilogy, but I might still have a few surprises in store...



The coloring book release date is still TBA, but it's coming! I've got a few other irons in the fire, but they still need a little more time to heat up before I can announce anything. But it's looking like a busy year for Dom over here.

Welcome to February! It's still cold, and I wish it wasn't. Onto the news!



First up, as it says at the top, love is in the air! Or at least it's about to be. For the whole month of February, 4 Horsemen Publications is having a sale for Valentine's Day! Next up we've got Distance & Dragons. I've started working on the maps that'll go on the inside of the physical editions of the book, and eventually released on Patreon. Hoping to have them finished in the next few weeks. There's still no release date or preorder links, but I did get to see the final cover art, and it looks so fucking good you guys. Can't wait to show you.



Aside from that, I've been trying to figure out and decide just what projects I want to be focusing on next. In addition to D&D and the coloring book, I've got a few stories that are actually finished, but they need some reworking and editing. Lots of things coming!

Happy New Year readers! I hope your December was great and you had a nice, warm holiday season. I very much enjoyed my month off, though it was still plenty busy between family obligations and a trip away with my partner. It's always nice to be able to step away from things, but I am very happy to be back in the writing saddle!



On that front, I've recently gotten to see the cover art for Distance & Dragons, and hoooo boy does it go HARD! It still needs a little more work before I can show it off, like adding the actual title to it, but I am very excited to be able to show it off. Stay tuned for a full cover reveal very, very soon, as well as preorder links!



I should have news about some other projects due out this year, such as the Steel & Thunder coloring book, very soon as well. It needs just a few final touches, but over the course of October and November I wrote almost fifty poems to accompany the spicy pin-up art I've been posting here. I hope you guys find it as silly and fun as I did!

In a bit of last-minute, pre-holiday news before I take the month off, I got back the manuscript for < em> Distance & Dragons< /em> from my editor! I am just going through and finalizing a few things and then it's off to the typesetter and all the other awesome people who make my books look as amazing as they do. I should have more info for you once I'm back in January!



The poetry/coloring book is also wrapping up, I've got just a few finishing touches to put on it, and then that will hopefully be out not long after < em> Distance & Dragons< /em> . Writing poetry is weird and fun, ya'll! And I can't wait to see your colored-in pages - especially the spicy ones!



Patreon subscriptions have all been paused, though as previously mentioned I'll be reposting some of my older stories all month! I'll also still be active on social media, so say hi on Bluesky or Instagram or anywhere else! I hope you all have a great holiday season and a happy new year!
