78TH ANNIVERSARY OF D-DAY

Yesterday was the 78th anniversary of D-Day – the turning point of World War II. Researching this astounding operation for WAR STORIES is one of the most powerful experiences I’ve ever had as a writer!

AWARD NEWS FOR LINKED ….

2022 has been very kind to LINKED so far. The good news began at the American Library Association’s Youth Media Awards, where it picked up a Sydney Taylor Honor. That was followed by a National Jewish Book Award in the middle grade fiction category, and most recently, a Cybil Award from the Children’s and Young Adult Bloggers Association. Hooray!

WAR STORIES WINS VINE AWARD!

So proud that WAR STORIES has won the 2021 Vine Awards YA/Children’s Lit prize!

According to the judges, “War Stories brings WWII history to life in an engaging way that is accessible for younger readers without glamorizing or sugar-coating the horrors of war.”

I wish I’d thought of that!

GAME ON!

Sports fans, this one’s for you! Two of my favorite sports books – THE TOILET PAPER TIGERS and THE CHICKEN DOESN’T SKATE – have been repackaged into this special double edition from Scholastic Canada.

A baseball team sponsored by a company that makes bathroom tissue? A hockey team that can’t win without a chicken named Henrietta, who also stars in a middle school science experiment? Read on!

COMING IN JANUARY: OPERATION DO-OVER !

I’m so happy to be able to break my silence over my next book, OPERATION DO-OVER, coming in January.

When he wakes up from a freak accident and finds himself magically transported back to seventh grade, he can’t ...
