Vancouver BC

Greetings from one of my favorite cities - Vancouver, BC, Canada. A quick reminder to my BC readers: I'll be at the Vancouver International Writers Festival this week, and I'll be signing at Vancouver Kids Books on Wednesday evening at 7pm. (I'll actually be speaking at the West Point Grey United Church sanctuary - more space.) Hope to see you there.

And a 39 Clues update - don't forget to tune in to yet another 39 Clues Live webcast event, hosted by Whoopi Goldberg on Monday, November 2nd ...

For POP fans

Also, for fans of POP, have you heard the latest news about the very serious issue of the connection between sports concussions and Alzheimer's Disease?

Check out the article in today's NY Times:http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/30/spo...

The fall tour

Just wanted to check in before the fall touring season runs me ragged. In October alone, I'll be visiting Nebraska, Maryland, Texas, Vancouver BC, New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut, talking about ZOOBREAK and POP.

And - update for 39 CLUES fans - Book 8 is now officially done. The release date is going to be April 6, 2010.

Thanks for coming back to my blog. I'll keep on posting from the road!

ZOOBREAK has arrived

Attention, SWINDLE fans. The long-awaited sequel, ZOOBREAK, hits the shelves today.

What's a ZOOBREAK? Think prison break with zoo animals. When Cleopatra, Savannah's lost monkey, turns up in a really cheesy zoo, Griffin, The Man With The Plan, devises an elaborate zoobreak to bust her out of captivity.

Just wanted to spread the word. There are more than a million SWINDLE fans out there, waiting for the return of The Man With The Plan, his team of baseball-card-heisting (now zoobreaking) accomplic

POP comes out tomorrow

Okay - forgive me for overloading you with new stuff, but that's how it is in the fall.

POP hits the shelves tomorrow, and I'm really psyched about it.

If you've ever seen me, I'm on the skinny side – 165 pounds, not a stick figure, exactly, but definitely not the kind of physique you immediately associate with a monster on the football field.

So why write about the "pop," the crunch of gridiron contact at the professional level? Any true world-class pop would probably land me in intensive care.

39 CLUES BOOK 5 hits the shelves

Just wanted to remind all 39 CLUES fans that the fifth book, THE BLACK CIRCLE by Patrick Carmen, is out today.

Congratulations to Pat on anotherheart-pounding adventure for Amy and Dan.

A little-known fact - Pat is by far the tallest member of the 39 CLUES team of authors, so he sees the Cahill world from a slightly different perspective than the rest of us.

Hope you enjoy Book 5!

Just back from Toronto

Thanks for checking in. I just got back from Toronto - from an intense writing session finalizing the 8th 39 CLUES book. I love working on this series - but the deadlines are brutal. Think about it - if I'm not on time with my novel, not only am I late, but I'm pushing the writers who come after me behind schedule too.

I'm also starting on another sequel in the series of SWINDLE and ZOOBREAK. I know it's weird to be thinking about a third instalment when ZOOBREAK hasn't even come out yet. But sin

Excerpts and covers for Zoobreak and Pop on website

Coming September 1st, 2009

Here's the cover for another one of Gordon's upcoming books. Zoobreak is a sequel to Swindle, and will be released by Scholastic on September 1st, 2009. It will be in hardcover, and right now, amazon.com is offering a nice discount on it.

Zoobreak features a return of the team that stole back the valuable Babe Ruth baseball card, this time to rescue Savannah's kidnapped money from a rather nasty floating zoo. As always, Griffin Bing has a plan, but you can bet it won't g
