Happy New Year!

"I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are learning, pushing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something.”
—Neil Gaiman

I hope the end of the year went well for you all.

Now that 2021 is firmly in the rear-view mirror, we can turn our attention to 2022 and better things! What are your resolutions for this year? I’m utterly hopeless at keeping them myself, so this time I’m going for an easy one: to keep on writing books!

And on that subject: thank you so much to everyone who picked up the third book in the series, The Burning Tears of Morlak. It was, without a doubt, my most successful launch so far, bolstered by the free giveaway of the first book and the cheaper sale price of the second. I was quite worried about how the third instalment in the quartet would be received as it was written after a bit of a hiatus, but people appear to be enjoying it.

I love writing, and I love hearing back from you all, so please leave a review or a rating on, well, any platform of your choice! Amazon, Goodreads, Bookbub, everything helps 😊.

Book Three Cover Reveal

The cover for The Burning Tears of Morlak is here, and it's another amazing composition by Damonza.

The third book in the War of the Twelve series follows our characters across several of the nine Baronies, but the most important threads of the story come together in the fortified town of Morlak, huddled in the shadow of the Redenfell Mountains. It is a grim, foreboding place, full of narrow alleyways and half-abandoned houses. The artist has captured this sense of dread perfectly - it really doesn't look like somewhere you would like to go on holiday!

And, of course, it is here that Reed is held at the mercy of Verona and Mithuna, Third of the Twelve...

Book 3 releases mid-December, less than a month away.

description

Praedora is plagued by the same recurring dream. A nightmare in which she is lost and alone in the dark, hunted by creatures from another age. The warrior knights of her temple may hold the key to ending her ordeal, but first they must deal with a more urgent threat.

A nearby village has been attacked; its inhabitants are missing. A distraught survivor whispers the name of those responsible: greylings. The same malicious predators from Praedora’s dreams.

Convinced that there must be a link between the two, Praedora leads a rescue party south, hoping to find the answer to her troubles.

Instead, what she discovers will change her life forever.

SPFBO Review

For those who don't know, the Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off (or SPFBO) is an annual literary contest set up by author Mark Lawrence that allows small self-published authors like myself get some well-needed visibility, primarily by getting reviewed by one of the big fantasy sites.

There are 300 total entries a year, including some incredibly talented authors, so if you are in the mood for some self-published fantasy it's worth checking out.

The Broken Heart of Arelium was reviewed by C.T. Phipps and you can find it here : https://booknest.eu/reviews/spfbo/229...

Thank you ... again!

Three thousand more books out into the wild!

An enormous thank you to everyone who decided to download The Broken Heart of Arelium over the last weekend. The book was downloaded just over a whopping 3000 times over the four-day free period which is absolutely mind-blowing. I topped the following categories on Saturday and Sunday :

Military Fantasy

Historical Fantasy

Alternative History

Low Fantasy

Dark Fantasy Horror

War&Military Action Fiction

Sword&Sorcery Fantasy ebooks

It's daunting and humbling to see something I wrote make its way into thousands of digital libraries, and I hope most people who decided to pick it up will enjoy reading about Arelium as much as I did writing about it.

Once again, please feel free to leave a review on Goodreads or Amazon, and head straight on over to Book 2, The Ashen Hand of Kessrin, for more Jelaïa, Aldarin, and Reed!
