SUNDAY MORNING PODCAST PANELS...

The panelists... Our audience of one. From our podcasting panel this morning. Bobby NashMike FaberMichael Gordon, & Kirby Bartlett-SloanDarren Nowell is off to the left, out of frame.

The Earth Station One podcast crew visited Outlantacon on May 4th to talk podcasting.
We did two panels. They were:
Sunday 11:00 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. - Podcasting: the business side of the microphone
Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 1:50 p.m. - ESO Podcast LIVE!

We only had one guest for the first one and the second panel was a no show. Sadly, this is not all that uncommon for early morning Sunday panels at a smaller, hotel con, because those are usually very busy late into the night. Still, despite a small audience, it was fun hanging out with the ESO crew. We also met up with some other friends working in the dealer's room. You know me, I'm never at a loss for cool people to talk to at a con.

After the con, the ESO crew caught a showing of The Amazing Spider-man 2 at a nearby theater. The movie was okay. I enjoyed it. Of course, we'll talk about it and review the heck out of the movie on this week's podcast. Stay tuned for that.

FREE COMIC BOOK DAY WRAP UP!

My Table at The Rock Shop for Free Comic Book Day
The event posterI just returned home from a fun-filled and full Free Comic Book Day event at The Rock Shop at the Mall of Georgia.

There was a great crowd from before we opened and there were still plenty of folks there when I left. Thanks to Brad and the Rock Shop staff for taking such good care of me. I had a great time.

Afterward, I popped over to see my buddy, Sean Taylor at Galactic Quest for a bit. No setting up. Just visiting. Always fun hanging out with Sean and Co.

Another early night tonight. Tomorrow, I, along with my Earth Station One podcast co-hosts will be doing a couple of panels about podcasting at Outlantacon. Afterward, the ESO crew is heading out to see The Amazing Spider-man 2.

Should be a fun weekend.

AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOS FOR CONS

I’m testing the waters on having photos from my film work at my appearances and conventions.

With Fat Chance getting a wide release soon I put together some shots from my role or Clark Wagner in the movie to my convention table plus one from The Following, where I played FBI Agent Robert Edwards, part of the Joe Carroll Task Force. There are 5 in all, but I may add more later.

I will have a couple of each on hand tomorrow for Free Comic Book Day at The Rock Shop to see which ones get the best response. I’ll be offering these copies for sale and order more for future appearances. I'll try to get some crisper images too.

I may also start offering them for sale through my website as well as I do with books.

Here are the ones I’m bringing.
Which ones do you like best?

I'll just rest right here a... mo... ment... ZZZ... ZZZ...ZZZ... This Saturday!Wait? May 1st already?

Where has the year gone?

Today, I finished up a graphic novel adaptation and sent it off for edits, put together some photos and signs to print out for cons and appearances, and worked on a short story. Yeah. I'd call that productive so I think I'm calling it a night early. I'm beat.

Looking forward to seeing some of you at Free Comic Book Day this Saturday. I'll be at The Rock Shop starting at 10 a.m.

Official Press Release:

Back cover. I'm sorry
for the small scan.PULP OBSCURA PRESENTS THE NEW ADVENTURES OF MAJOR LACY AND AMUSEMENT, INC!

An independent publisher of cutting edge Genre Fiction, Pro Se Productions announces the debut of the latest volume in one of its most popular imprints. In 2012, Pro Se, in conjunction with Altus Press, a renowned publisher of quality reprints of classic Pulps as well as New Pulp, began Pulp Obscura, a line of anthologies and books that featured classic, often forgotten pulp characters in new tales by today’s best writers. And the most recent volume has also been one of the most anticipated of the imprint- THE NEW ADVENTURES OF MAJOR LACY AND AMUSEMENT, INC.!

“Pulp Obscura,” says Tommy Hancock, Editor in Chief of and Partner in Pro Se
Productions, “has definitely been a feather in Pro Se’s cap. While Altus publishes the original adventures of these obscure pulp –hence the imprint’s name-characters featured in the line, Pro Se has endeavored to breathe new life into heroes that once peopled the newsstands of the early 20th Century. A rather ambitious project from the start in intent and scope, it has taken some of the originally planned volumes longer than expected to come together in just the right way. But I am proud to say that the wait has been well worth it with THE NEW ADVENTURES OF MAJOR LACY AND AMUSEMENT, INC.”

Major John Tatersall Lacy, known to his mysterious benefactors as Mr. Sunday, returns in new adventures leading an amazing fighting force, Amusement, Inc. in a war against the Underworld.

Created by Theodore A. Tinsley, Amusement, Inc. is a group of former Marines who bring their considerable talents and military tactics to bear in a new battle-- the war on crime. The group is funded by six mysterious men who make up the Emergency Council to Combat Crime
and keep their identities hidden behind codenames based on the days of the week. Taking the codename Mr. Sunday, Major Lacy leads Amusement, Inc. in the field and is assisted by three trusted aides. Together they lead their small army in an ongoing mission- to bring the battle for the law and justice to those who rule the Underworld and WIN!

“This volume,” says Hancock, “presented us with a rather unique opportunity. The original series of stories ended on a sort of cliffhanger and the first volume in THE NEW ADVENTURES, penned by award winning author Bobby Nash, picks up literally where the final classic story left off. And Amusement, Inc. definitely continues to have all the action and adventure Pulp fans enjoy in all the stories that follow.”

From out of the Past comes new tales of one of Pulp's Greatest Citizen Soldiers written by Bobby Nash, Jim Beard, R. P. Steeves, David White, Andrew Salmon, and Don Thomas. Featuring stunning artwork by Mike Fyles, THE NEW ADVENTURES OF MAJOR LACY AND AMUSEMENT, INC.! is available on Amazon and at Pro Se’s own store here for $12.00 in a print edition formatted and designed by Sean Ali.

This latest Pulp Obscura volume is also available as an ebook designed and formatted by Russ Anderson for $2.99 via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords.

BOBBY CROSSES OVER!!!

It starts here...Cool. A couple of my stories got mentioned on Sean Lee Levin's The Crossover Universe blog. How do Secret Agent X and Lance Star: Sky Ranger crossover? Find out here.

Thanks to Sean for including these in the Crossover Universe Blog. I love it when I'm able to crossover characters and stories. I do it whenever I can. I’ll have to write up a nice blog post about it. I have several background characters that have appeared in books in multiple timelines so we’ve gotten to see them grow and age and see what they’ve been up to. Plus, Evil Ways' FBI Agent Harold Palmer has a connection to Lance Star: Sky Ranger and The New Adventures of The Eagle as his grandfather, a G-man, makes appearances in both.

It gets revisited here. The crossovers are fun Easter Eggs for those who have read multiple stories I’ve written. Think of them as a nice bonus.

See you over there.

GHOST GAL COMING SOON! COVER REVEALED!

(front and back covers) Cover Art: Jamie Chase The Ghost Gal cover has been revealed!

GHOST GAL: The Wild Hunt will be available for ordering shortly from Raven's Head Press. This pulpy horror adventure is Written by Author Bobby Nash and based on the life of Alexandra Holzer under a painted cover by Jamie Chase. Forward by one of the original Ghostbusters,
“Alex and I shared a mutual dream about this some years back it's good to know dreams still come true,” said Michael R. Hudson. “Never give up!”

Cover Placeholder“It’s pretty neat and humbling to be immortalized in pen and ink,” said Holzer of seeing her fiction alter ego.

“This was so much fun to write. I had a great time,” said Nash about Ghost Gal. “I look forward to getting started on book 2 sometime in the very near future.”

Go Go Ghost Gal!

Raven’s Head Press head honcho, Michael Hudson originally approached me with the idea for Ghost Gal in 2013. I was intrigued by the idea of a pulp ghost hunter. I said yes on the spot.

Final cover (front)Set in the 1960's, Alexandra and Hans Holzer, based on the real life father and daughter ghost hunters (Alex is a consultant on the book) this first book in the series has them facing off against ghouls from myth, The Wild Hunt.

The Wild Hunt is out for revenge on the man who imprisoned them years earlier-- Hans Holzer. What they didn't count on was his feisty daughter, Alex, joining the family business.

Ghost Gal: “The Wild Hunt” will be available soon. Keep watching this page for more details as soon as they are available.

I ain’t afraid of no ghost.
