New Friends and Book List
I sent out some new friend requests last weekend. I used the standard GR "Check out my new books," text. I wish I had written my own text, because that's a little misleading. There are a few new books that I reviewed for publication, but I haven't added any besides them in some time.
The story behind it:
I went to a Helsinki library and visited their pop fiction room. A few thousand books. I noticed I had read close to half of them, and I thought, I should rate all these on GR. I made a handwritten list of a couple hundred authors. I spent a few hours rating books, which is why most books on my list are by a few authors, and had fun doing it. Then, there never seemed to be another few hours to continue. The list still sits on my desk. So, one of these days, when some time free appears, hopefully before retirement, I will rate them all. It's become one of those compulsive 'I must do this before I die' things. Maybe not completing it will make me live longer?
