2022 Poetry Out Loud State Finals

This Tuesday I was a judge for the 2022 Indiana Poetry Out Loud State Finals. It was a joy to be on the panel and to be able to listen to so many great young poets in the Hoosier state! Congratulations again to Lila Ward and good luck at Nationals!

Author Promo by OrangePeel

My poem “Brigade de cuisine” was published in Orangepeel’s Issue 3. Orangepeel did an author feature on their social media. Orangepeel editors wrote about my poem: “we love the home-y feel of this work; it makes you feel like you’re in the kitchen with the characters!”

Also, huge shout out to whoever added the picture of the barbacoa chimichanga! Orangepeel staff asked me about my favorite food and they delivered (figuratively, of course. Although literally would be amazing).
