Messy Photo Contest

As a parent, regardless of the amount of supervision and diligence we exercise, our children reach an age of “exploration”. That is precisely when they decide that during that five minute span you have decided to vacuum, shower, or load the dishwasher they are going to get into mischief!

Tumford’s “parents” certainly have grown to understand this! Tumford has a propensity for trouble and sometimes needs to be reminded that “not all attention is good!”

In the spirit of exploration we want to see all of the wonderful messes your children have made of themselves! Submit your photo of your child in the midst of the aftermath of a mess for a chance to win!

At the end of the contest the winners will be selected based on the number of votes! It’s just that easy. So upload, enter, vote, win!

Enjoy and thank you for sharing your wonderful children and grandchildren.

Contest Ends February 20 2013.

Silly Things Kids Say #1

We asked our fans on the Nancy Tillman Collection Facebook page to send us some silly or wonderful things  that their little ones said that made them laugh or cry.

This is what they said:

Debra Anne Taylor wrote: “Me and my partner were arguing tonight, not loudly, and our two year old daughter said shh mummy, shh daddy. Then she said are you grumpy daddy? Are you grumpy mummy? So sweet to have that empathy at 25 months old. Gotta love em.”

Sarah Brown Rosales wrote: “Last week we asked our 3 yr old daughter to share her gummy worms with her older brother. She ignored us. We asked again. She said, ” I’m not listening.” We all laughed.”

Jennifer Geyer wrote: “This isn’t too funny but my 8 yr old is beyond swift and I called myself an idiot one day and he goes mom you’re not an idiot your idietta because I’m a girl.

Melissa Weckhorst wrote: “When I couldn’t understand my son’s 4-year-old enunciation he looks at me puzzled and asks, “Are you smart?” I said, “Yes, I am.” He then cocks his head to the side and says, “But you don’t know words!” And when he disagrees with our explanation for why dinosaurs aren’t still around, or why his brother cannot fly down the stairs, he simply disagrees saying, “But I’M the EXPERT!” We’d better watch out with such a smart child!”

Melissa Esposito Miciek  wrote: “Whenever I try to sing to my 18 month old he puts his hand to his forehead, shakes his head and yells oh no! I don’t know whether to laugh or cry LOL”

Lauren Thompson wrote: “Last week my one year old daughter kept closing her bedroom door on me. I kept opening it and it became a game for her. She would laugh every time she shut it on me and then one time when I opened it she said peekaboo! It made me laugh so hard and that was the first time she ever said that word! I’m so looking forward to the things that will come out of her little mouth when she learns more words! She is learning fast!”

Sarah Sica Elvin wrote: “My two year old misses all of our Christmas lights. He keeps asking for “the pretties.”

Kalie Andrews wrote: “While snuggling with my four year old son I said to him ” I’m going to love you forever and ever” he takes my cheeks in his hands and looks at me and says ” even when you are a spirit mommy I’ll still love ya!” That little boy sure melts my heart.”

LuAnn Britton wrote: “My 4 y/o grandson was playing with his blocks spelling words, I would praise him for spelling words correctly and help him along when the words were incorrect. he looks up at me and says, “Nana why do you know so much?”, I said “because I’m old” and his reply was, “NO Nana, it’s because you’re awesome!!!!”, I Love that boy”

Kate Preader wrote: “I shared this with my friends last week – my girls have had colds all week and my very sick 4 year old was feeling mushy and clingy one day when she put her arms around my neck and said, “Mama, I wish I was a man, today.” I laughed and asked, “Why?” And she said, “because I want to marry you…I want to sit at da table and put a ring on your finger.”

Fleur Zylstra wrote: “I think the air came out of the freezer today, mom. Or maybe just the fridge.” From my 3 year old daughter as we were leaving preschool

Amy ‘Petesch’ Stutzman wrote: “I picked the kids up from daycare one day and have had a very rough day at work, my son asked what was wrong and I told that it wasn’t a good day and he asked “why not, did Bubblegum (our cat) poop on you?” and I about died laughing. Its amazing how a 3 year olds perspective on the world can just change your day:)”

Caroline Musicmaven Morrow McElroy wrote: “But momma I am being a have!”

Cheryl Madon Helliwell wrote: “I’ll never forget the day we were in the library and a rather large man came into the aisle to stand next to us. His shirt was not quite long enough to cover his tummy. My two year old son, who loved being tickled and getting “raspberries” blown on his stomach, smiles innocently at the man and says “I see your big fat belly sticking out of your shirt! Tickle tickle!!” Needless to say, I died a little and we left quickly!!”

Nora Park wrote: “One day I was watching my three year old daughter play and I asked her what she would remember most about mommy and without skipping a beat she replied is that you love me. It makes my heart melt whenever I think of that.”

Cindy Brown Griggs wrote: “My two year old grandson sustained a scratch to his foot while we were on vacation at the beach. His foot did bleed a little, so to distract him from being “devastated” we told him that he could tell everybody at school it was a shark bite. A few weeks later while bathing he noticed his scar from open heart surgery when he was three months old. He had never paid it any attention before. He looked up at my daughter and said “mommie look (pointing to the scar on his chest) Shark Bite!”.
