Don’t confuse credentials and credibility. The former are moment in time results. Lag metrics. They open doors and get you inside. The latter is your ongoing value add. Lead metrics. They prove your worth and keep you inside.
Your path is determined by two things: your decision quality and luck. If you optimize decision quality by leveraging the Strategic Pause (minimizing irrational and maximizing logical inputs), you will often maximize good luck and minimize bad luck.
Welcome the right problems. Those that originate from growth are far more desirable than those that originate from pullback. If your problems are the former, be happy to have problems.
If you use 3-5 paragraphs to ask or convey what could be expressed in 3-5 bullets, you are frustrating most people you are communicating with. It shows a lack of communication empathy.
Your team got you here, your current “state of the state.” Will they get you there, achieving your company’s vision (long-term goals)? If not, what are the team and/or operating model adjustments you need to make?
