Life is a Journey

description

Each individual’s journey is unique. Accepting that your journey is unique helps you stay mindful and removes the temptation to judge yourself, and others, as you navigate change.

At times it can be very hard not to compare your journey to those around you.

You may ask yourself, “Why are things so easy for them?” “Why is this never happening to anyone else around me?” “What are they doing that is so different than what I am doing?”
Here is the secret though.
You never know what is going on in their real life. You don't know their full story. What their real struggles are and what obstacles they are facing every signal day.

You are only able to write your story and find a way to embrace change that will work for you and your life.

Ways to Share Kindness

description

Super Awesome Safe Ideas To Share Kindness Often

Be inclusive
Invite someone you know who is on their own to join a positive activity

Bring a Meal Over to Someone In Need
Chances are you might know someone right now who is
single, or alone who would really appreciate sharing a meal together. Inviting that person to
participate in a virtual “Framily” meal, (friends and family dinner), via Zoom, Skype, or Facetime, is a fun, easy, and safe way to connect.

Write a note of thanks
A handwritten note is a lovely way to show someone you care
about you are thinking of them. If you are busy or like me,
your handwriting is atrocious, there is always email.

Taking care of your mindset

description

Along with social distancing, taking care of our mindset, and taking one day at a time is key to successfully navigating rapid, unexpected change.

Now more than ever it is important to keep perspective and remember our life is what we create.

Being a positive thinker, and trying to stay mindful, will help you attract more positive into your life, no matter what the situation.

It can also make the difference between having a super awesome life, or a super rotten one, while all this upheaval plays out.

During a pandemic, it is hard to know what the next five minutes will bring, but we do know that collectively, we are all in this together.

In that spirit, I’ve included some super awesome tips to help you stay positive and mindful, and successfully stickhandle change during the days and weeks to come.

*Focus on Your Basic Needs

*Develop New Healthy Routines and Rituals

*Be Mindful

*Practice Gratitude

New Adventures

description

I want to take this time to reintroduce myself. I am an ordinary person who has survived some extraordinary things. I'm a former kindergarten teacher, strategic planner, university lecturer, and the founder of My Super Awesome Life Inc. Now I'm helping people just like you navigate life's challenges and land "buttered side up."

Like everyone, I am hoping for a fresh new storyline in 2022. For me this includes a new addition to my family after the loss my my beloved dog Buddy- a little puppy named Cher! Cher is a Beabull–her dad is a French Bulldog and her mother is a Beagal. She has brought me so much joy since I adopted her. I am forever grateful for the adventures I will be enjoying with her-stay tuned!

Thanks for hanging in there with me, and I look forward to engaging with you.

Warm wishes for a wonderful winter season!
Jane

Simply Gifted

description

When it comes to gift giving, being mindful about your gift choice, and how it might be appreciated and utilized by the recipient, can make the process of gift giving a more meaningful happy experience for both the giver, and the receiver.

Half the fun of receiving a heartfelt present is knowing someone you care about took the time to consciously think about you, and what might make you happy. On the flip side, when you get to see the look of joy on someone’s face when they receive your present, you get to keep some of that joy too.

During the holidays there is not always a lot of time to consider what to gift to someone. Consider that your gift is from you, not about you. How much money you spend is not relevant. Gifts like sharing your love, encouragement, an experience, and being present, are free and unconditional. You can give these things not just during the holidays, but all year-round.

The best gifts in life are usually free and from the heart. Begin to think about your special someone’s interests or passions. What makes them tick, what lights them up, and what brings a smile to their face? When you are mindful about what you give, you are more likely to make good choices, and the giver, as well as receiver, can be rewarded in beautiful and unexpected ways.

7 Super Awesome Tips for Thoughtful Giving

1. Memorable Memories
Gather mementos such as pictures, newspaper clippings, or awards from your special someone’s life. Turn them into a scrapbook, memory box, or a digital or paper album to help remind them of about special times together.

2. Life Lessons
Find out what your person is interested in and what they find inspiring. Give your time to help share your knowledge, or, invest in a lesson or class such as cooking or yoga for them which can lead to self-discovery.

3. Heartfelt Handmade
Creating or buying handmade presents can help you give a gift that is as unique as the person it is intended for, and helps support the artist too.

4. A Mindful Journal
Giving a lovely journal to a friend or loved one for daily writing practice can be a terrific way to support finding a fresh perspective on life.

5. An Experience to Remember
Treat that special someone to an experience they will treasure. Think about something, or some place, they would like to explore such as painting, a day of hiking then lunch at a fabulous restaurant, or a fantastic theatre production.

6. A Happy Hamper
Choose a selection of items that help nourish the body and soul. Tailor and theme your choices to your loved one’s tastes, personalities, age and personal preferences. Baskets for the foodie, yogi, reader, or spa lover in your life will be well received.

7. Simply Sponsor
Sponsoring a child, or the welfare and upkeep of an animal, gives back and can bring a lot of joy to both the gift giver and receiver. Moreover, many charities provide sponsors with certificates, photos, and updates to help keep them posted on the impact of their donation.
