The long and the short of it

I've taken to reading short stories and novellas lately as I'm struggling to find time to do much reading. Despite a promising start to the year, demands on my time have forced me to limit a bunch of activities - with social media being the first to go.
On the writing front, the third Daniel Myers novella is done (sort of, needs editing), bringing Daniel's adventures in Louisiana to a close. Cover art is bieng finalised with the aim of having it out by December.
I'm also procrastinatiing by working on multiple projects (including the next Cursed Truths installment), allowing me to flit from story to story, chipping away at each one as the mood takes me.

Updated Website and Short Stories

With various projects and work commitments, my website has been left feeling unloved recently. That changed today with the addition of a Free Short Stories category within the Fiction section.
At present, the only entry is a Daniel Myers adventure that takes place after the events of Fortune's Favour (ebook available to buy at Amazon). Warning: the story does include spoilers for the first Daniel Myers book, Destiny's Demise (also available as an ebook using this Amazon link).

More short stories to follow, in between my main projects, so make sure you follow my updates here to find out when a new story is available for download.

I can't believe...

...that January is over already. With my head buried in books (editing, reading and editing again) this month has flown by. Milena is now available on Amazon and I'm already onto the next item on my list. I'd like to say more but I've been sworn to secrecy while the paperwork is being processed.

Until next time, happy reading.

Progress Update

How am I getting on with my New Year's resolutions? Um...

1. Get Milena released - Uh, yeah. Still haven't done that.
2. Get the third Daniel Myers novella written - I've not done that either.
3. Working on more content - Sort of. I've mostly been going through the files for the 'project that shall not be named' to make sure everything is in place for moving to the publishing stage.

I do have some ideas for a Daniel Myers short story set in between books two and three. If all goes to plan, I'll have something to show on that by mid-Feb.

Goodbye 2020

Since this is my last post of the year (should have been yesterday but my days are all messed up), I'm going to put a few new year's resolutions in place.

1. Get Milena released (check out last week's post for a glimpse of the cover concept).
2. Get the third Daniel Myers novella written.
3. That's it. That's all I'm committing to. There are lots of other projects in the pipeline but, depending on what happens in LA, my timeline could see a massive shift in the next few months. Whatever happens, I'll be working on more content.

Free Books for the Holidays

It's the time of year for presents so I'm making my Daniel Myers ebooks available for free until the 24th.
If you enjoy noir, detective stories, now is the best time to download books 1 and 2 in the series.
http://a-fwd.to/2AegQAJ

Book 1 - Destiny's Demise
After years of debunking the supernatural, Louisiana might be the end for Daniel Myers. When a fan of his work commits suicide, it is up to Daniel to overcome his past and find the evidence the police overlooked. Evidence that some would prefer never became public.

Book 2 - Fortune's Favour
A murdered child. An accused father. A missing murder weapon. To solve this case, Deputy Sheriff Cleo Landry will need all the help she can get. Can she keep Daniel Myers from pushing his luck, or will fortune favour the bold?

Book 3 in the series is planned for 2021.

The Forecast Ascension

My fantasy novel is complete and available in ebook and paperback format on Amazon (https://bit.ly/Atsie-TFA) after many delays (read as me procrastinating with the edits).
Taking a break to sort out some music related activities before finishing my next crime thriller. I should have an update on that next week.

The Forecast Ascension

Between working a day job and writing my next crime thriller, getting my fantasy novel finished has been a slog. I mean, I finished writing it at the start of the year. Unfortunately, 2020 has been one of those years that takes pride in trampling the plans of mortals. That is why, I have spent the last two weeks getting The Forecast Ascension done (also the reason for skipping last week's update).
Edited manuscript: Check.
Artwork: Check.
Printed proof: On order.
With a bit of luck, I'll be able to post some release information next weekend.

Art Beat

Busy weekend (almost typed busty weekend then) working with some concept art. Unfortunately, the idea I had doesn't look great. I think the core premise is still feasible, but I need better artwork to get the look I want. Back to the drawing board.
The artwork in question is for the third book in my WIP queue. My next release is still plodding along, waiting for a final edit, while I work on the book that will follow it.
