Quiet. Chocolate fanatic. Lover of tea. R.S. Rain emigrated from Guyana to New York at the age of 11 and realized her talent for writing in the fifth grade. Even though her English teacher at the time didn't believe she had written her first story ever for an assignment, she went on to write her first novel in the sixth grade.

It wasn't until Middle School that Rain found poetry, one of the many loves in her life. Ever since she read a novel written in poetry format, that was it for her. She could no longer write any stories no matter how hard she tired, as they all came out as poetry in her perspective.

In High School, she was introduced to playwright and that also clicked with her. (Her first play is currently being turned into a multi-se

So I challenged myself to limit the amount of lines/stanza I usually write. My computer was right in front of me so I began to experiment. Thus, Inhale Exhale was born. The alternate title was "Depression and Company" but as per a poll result, Inhale Exhale was the winner! In the beginning stage, I didn't have it in mind that this collection was going to be about me, I just wrote some feelings down and came up with a patter for the format (as you read, you'll notice it right away.) As I reached half way through the writing, I realized the collection is very autobiographical so I decided to go full out and bare as much as I could (some content were left out as it was too intimate to share). I was going to label the collection fiction if that particular section was added because I didn't want anyone to know it was my experience, but decided against it. Hence, it was taken out and the non-fiction category remained. Some of my experiences was mention in "The Hollow Darkness: The Unwritten Diary" in the first volume, so I didn't want to repeat those moments here either. I wanted them to be different in their own ways. (less)

Cover Update for Volume One

Between the Lines There Lies a Story of Me

Between the Lines There Lies a Story of Me will be getting a new cover update!

Why this change?

Personally I feel like there could be a better representation of the book by its cover. I wasn’t really satisfied with the current cover.

At the time of publishing, I didn’t realized I could have gone with other options as I was too preoccupied with the publishi Read more of this blog post »

“By empowering strength, I will strive.”
R.S. Rain

“Giving up isn’t the answer. Paving a new road and going the distance will have an impact. Whenever positive or negative, the bumps are there for us to learn and avoid in the future. Slow down at the orange light. Move forward at the green light.”
R.S. Rain

“People, sometimes the ones closes to us, will try to drag us down in the dirt, believing in what they have done is the right thing. Those people, can be the monster that keeps fueling the fire just to have control of our lives. It’s going to be hard to put the flames out; to keep draining the fountain of its precious water, but backing down from these monsters will only be letting them win. Drown the fire in an ocean. Shown them you are not weak or will be burn by their viscousness.”
