Music: Running Away

It took me a long time to realize I really like Hoobastank. I never paid attention to song titles or band names back when I listened to the radio all those years ago (I'm all iPod now). So when I heard a few songs from a CD I realized that Hoobastank performed a LOT of songs that I like.

This particular song fits a lot of my titles because my characters are like me and hate conflict. They also

Around My Office: Thai Dancer

Note: Picture taken (3 times) with my Kodak camera.
This is my Thai dancing doll that I got from the lovely PJ Schynder after Stephanie Burke and I had a sleepover at her place on the way to PhilCon in 2010. Just a note, that is ONE doll from three different angles. I wanted to give the full effect and you can't get that from just one view.

I had a great, GREAT time at PJ's house. I got to meet

Writing Update: 21 September

- WRITING (14 September): 3585 words today on SERENITY sequel. That's more than I thought I would get finished since I'm a bit distracted with mid-month stuff. I got a giant chunk of Chp9 finished. Fun-ness (not the kind you're thinking... pervert :P) just happened. My poor characters. I treat them so bad. Anywho, tomorrow is a non-writing day. My binge writing (if you could call it that) week is

Writing Advice: Self-Editing Tip #2 - Color Code

Every writer has a list of words they overuse:

- Just
- That
- Like
- Look
- Feel
- Was
- Even
- Still
- Of

Those are just a few but there are TONS. Some are general and apply to all of us. While some are specific to a particular writer.

One way to catch the problem words so you can weed them out of your manuscript is color-coding. No matter how many times you read or re-read (or read aloud)

Music: Glitter and Gold

I don't care what anyone says, I still LOVE Jem and the Holograms. I might not be able to watch a lot of the shows I did as a kid, but this one is timeless to me.

One of my all time favorite songs from the series was Glitter and Gold. And if you haven't figured it out by now, I have really eclectic taste in music. :P

And a bonus track...
