NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE

You know, in my line of work, I meet people whose lives genuinely suck. By ‘my line of work’ I mean people who are willing to listen, and by ‘genuinely suck’ I mean people whose lives are unbearable. People who have been beaten, threatened, abused, destroyed, broken, trampled, oppressed, injured, left for dead… victims who were wrecked by the Evil of others.

This isn’t for you.

Then I meet the other kind of people. Now, these people are genuinely suffering too, but it’s because their lives are genuinely stuck. As in, they are stuck in the moment where they made a stupid decision or fell into addiction, and they are living the rest of their lives eternally in hate mode trying to justify it somehow…

This is for you.

That Jerk who told you to hate your dad/mom/home/church/granny/dog/family because of THAT THING YOU NEVER EVEN CARED ABOUT UNTIL THEY MENTIONED IT and run away so you both got high and sleep together and then for some reason your life took a bad turn? If you were fine til you met that jerk, then that JERK was the problem.

That ‘Mentor’ that met you when you were happy, but they had to ‘educate’ you on how IGNORANT YOUR HAPPINESS WAS and by the time that ‘Mentor’ got finished with you, your life was a train wreck? If you were functional before you met that ‘Mentor’, then that ‘MENTOR’ was the problem.

That Astroturfed Corporate ‘REBELLIOUS ACT’ that ‘changed your life’ because it opened your eyes to WHAT EVER ‘REBELLIOUS ACT’ THEY WANTED TO SELL YOU so you actually went and did what they suggested then your life went to hell? If your life was going well until you bought their ‘REBELLIOUS ACT’ then you didn’t rebel - you did as you were told, then that ‘REBELLIOUS ACT’ was the problem.

Stop blaming the wrong people; the people that introduced you to the problem are the problem.

Stop letting people who victimise you tell you it was for your own good. Stop letting homewreckers, abusers and predators tell you that the half-way decent but flawed people in your life are the problem.

Blame your Predator.

Blame your Dealer.

Blame your Abuser.

Then stop blaming yourself - you were just a kid. You didn’t know… or maybe you were an adult, but you got stupid and made a mistake trusting the wrong people. It happens. Your exploiters still exploited you…

and stop blaming the people who tried to save you. They are victims too. The lives that were destroyed by the liars who cut you out of the herd so they could rape you, abuse you and addict you? They are victims too.

Blame the ‘friend’ that got you drunk. Blame the adult that got you high. Blame the one who told you how stupid your family was, just so they could use you.

Stop giving your abusers a pass because if felt good for a moment. Stop giving your pushers leeway because you had a good time. Stop giving your exploiters a break because maybe they were right about something;

stop trying to excuse abuse by somehow making it anyone else’s fault -

then go take back your life.💖
