Julia Tanner is a high school graduate, writer, and author of the new novella 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘏𝘦𝘪𝘳𝘴. Born and raised in Sweden, Julia had spent many years reading fantasy novels and imagining about becoming a fantasy author herself!

After graduating from high school, she started writing in November 2019 and finally realized her dream in May 2020 when her debut novella 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘝𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦 was released on Amazon. Both of her novellas are now available on Amazon.

Julia enjoys composing short stories, and sci-fi/fantasy novellas. She claims her writing muse is a dragon who rampages in her mind until she sits down and starts creating. With two books already under her name, she doesn’t want to stop writing and she promises that this is just the start. There’s

Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel
“I’m talking about these people who’ve ended up in one life instead of another and they are just so disappointed. Do you know what I mean? They’ve done what’s expected of them. They want to do something different but it’s impossible now, there’s a mortgage, kids, whatever, they’re trapped.
I see this all the time and I don’t know what to say about it except that it can happen to anyone.

"This was my second Riley Sager book, and after loving Lock Every Door, I had high hopes—but I really disliked this one.

The synopsis promised everything I want in a thriller, and the first 25% actually delivered. Then the pacing slowed to a crawl. Sam" Read more of this review »

"2.5 ✨ Unfortunately, this one just didn’t work for me. The main character was very unlikable, the story was overloaded on twists, and the final reveal felt purely for shock value without adding anything meaningful."

Hell is the absence of the people you long for.
Jean-Paul Sartre’s famous line is “Hell is other people,” and of course he’s absolutely right, but I think this is the obvious flipside of his formulation. I spoke with a reader recently who gave me a vivid example of this particular kind of hell, at an event I did at a women’s prison camp in Illinois. On the surface, the place didn’t seem that bad to me, especially since I’d just done an event at the adjacent men’s medium security facility. Whereas medium security prisons have razorwire, guard towers, and an atmosphere of leaden sadness, in prison camps there are no walls—the idea is that ...more

“Power resides only where men believe it resides. [...] A shadow on the wall, yet shadows can kill. And ofttimes a very small man can cast a very large shadow.”

“Woman?” She chuckled. “Is that meant to insult me? I would return the slap, if I took you for a man.” Dany met his stare. “I am Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, the Unburnt, Mother of Dragons, khaleesi to Drogo’s riders, and queen of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.”
