Why I’m launching a podcast
In case you missed it, my podcast – the Mindfulness Academy Podcast – is premiering on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022. This has been a dream I’ve had for quite some time and I am elated to finally be able to share this project with you.
Many of you know how deeply I believe in the benefits of mindfulness, but you might not know about my journey to mindfulness. It started off many years ago during a difficult period in my life. I was deeply unhappy and felt completely stuck in my unhappiness. But I kne...

Why is mindfulness important to your business?
As the founder and CEO of a growing marketing company, I’m a firm believer in integrating mindfulness into the workplace. Our team at Good Aim Communications practices mindfulness together and we’re better for it. We think more before we speak. We breathe when conversations get tough. We notice when our own “stuff” is getting in the way.
We also talk about ways that we can integrate mindfulness into our work and personal relationships for the greater good of our business and community. Here a...

It’s my 40th birthday!
This year marks a milestone birthday for me as I celebrate four decades on planet Earth. I’ve contemplated my arrival to the Land of Forties over the last several months. Sure, it’s not a physical place (well, at least that I know of; I’m a newbie here). But it is a state of mind.
I’ve spoken with several who’ve entered this land before me. I hear that the body may not function like it did at its peak, but that other riches await. The LOFers say that it’s a decade of reaping the harvest of care...

Slow your roll: Mindful walking for calmness
The word “mindfulness” often conjures an image of sitting cross-legged on a floor cushion. A guttural “Om” might be thrown in for good meditation measure. No movement, just breathing in and out. While this certainly qualifies as a mindfulness practice, did you know that mindfulness also includes walking?
Let’s be clear: I’m not talking about power walking to the entrance of the Coach outlet store with your AirPods buried deeply in your ears, drowning out the world around you. I’m talking about ...

Happy 2nd Birthday!
Today marks the 2nd birthday of The Chaos Antidote: A Fable About Mindfulness. If you recall, two years ago—June of 2020—was an odd time. Folks were working from home; kiddos were also home because summer camps (and vacations) were cancelled.
Writing and publishing a book during COVID meant the process was a fairly private experience. Sure, my editor, proofreader and publishing team cheered me on via Zoom and email, but I was ready to break out the streamers and kazoos with humans … in person.

As summer vibes give way to fall-time frenzy, you may find yourself at the boiling point. As the mother of two elementary school-age kids, I get squeamish just looking at my family’s packed calendar.
Between work, shuttling kiddos to practices and caring for aging parents, I rarely have time for myself. But I’ve found some ways to calm down and access my best self, and I’d like to share ...

You’re freer than you think
In honor of July, a month that celebrates our freedom, I want to share with you a beautiful line I heard recently:
You’re freer than you think.
What a life-giving thought!
How often do you feel overwhelmed or trapped by negative thoughts? How often do those thoughts make you spin out? Act out?
You’re freer than you think.
What if you took this to heart, tried it on for a day … allowed yourself to be freer?
I’m trapped. → I’m traveling a beautiful path of freedom.
I don’t have any choices. → Life...

My interview on The Zen Mommy IGTV and “Mom, SLOW DOWN” Podcast
My interview with The Zen Mommy (formerly Self-Love Collective) IGTV and “Mom, SLOW DOWN” podcast host Jessica Gershman was a complete joy! We got real about life … and how I use mindfulness to calm down to truly enjoy it.
I teared up a bit here and there and got goosebumps when Jessica shared how she uses the “Veda hug” (a mindfulness technique from my book) with her daughter.
