Tweet of the Day, These Were Literally My Thoughts About Iron Harvest edition.
All the way down the line.
Iron Harvest is out?! I'm terrible at RTS, I don't even know why I'm looking at it, but… Steam Powered Mechs(!!!)
— Tycho Brahe (@TychoBrahe) September 1, 2020
There’s just something about Iron Harvest… okay, okay, it’s the steam-powered mecha.
September Checklist, 09/01/2020.
I’ve got a bunch of things that I gotta do this month, so I’ve created a spreadsheet for them. Some of this stuff may be of interest! For example, today I:
Lined up an editor for the short story collection;Sent out a copy of the manuscript to a beta reader (if that sounds fun, let me know);Reached out to a possible artist; And spent the afternoon cleaning up the text for the RPG supplement.
As soon as I get the Starting Characters finished on that, off it goes to the layout artist. Well, actually there are some playtest notes to fiddle with first. But I can do that tomorrow. Concentrating on the RPG this afternoon has oddly worn me out a bit.
The “EAT THEM ALL. EAT EVERY ONE OF THESE MAMMALIAN FOOLS” JURASSIC WORLD: CAMP CRETACEOUS Netflix trailer.
I have no sympathy for any human shown in JURASSIC WORLD: CAMP CRETACEOUS. To hell with them. That universe has had quite enough warnings to stop making dinosaurs and putting them in theme parks. If they choose to ignore them, then let the dinosaurs consume the world. If that’s what it takes, then that’s what it takes.

‘Stairway to Heaven.’
Mark your calendars for the next Kickstarter.
It’s going to be hopefully starting on November 1st. It will be a collection of short stories, set in the Fermi Resolution universe: the tentative title is TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION, VOLUME I: SHADOW OF THE TOWER. Of the ten stories, I think four will be original to this collection, and it will include a Tom Vargas novelette! Also a bit from the next novel.
At the moment I’m sending out emails to see who I can get to do the editing and the cover. When I know more on that, I will say more. Otherwise, September is when I get the RPG worldbook fixed up in its current form, finish up as many of my final obligations for the Kickstarter as I can, and do a few more things.

PS: If you want to beta read the story collection, let me know. Or the MORGAN BAROD novel, although I’m handing that off to my alpha reader first.
The August Patreon stuff is up!
This month, it’s:
OMBUDSMAN (The Fermi Resolution): a two-fisted tale of corporate responsibility and defenestrations! Complete with Scenes of Heroic Endeavor, for the Edification and Entertainment of the Managers and Workers of the Hershey Consortium. As the Golden Emperor Lies Dying, Chapter 6: The Future: Not that anything involving the King in Yellow has an actual future. But if you’re playing a cosmic terror game, well, that’s baked in the cake, hey?
Gonna do different stuff in both categories next month, I think. Because I’m kind of slagged, right now.

ANAGNORISIS goes live tomorrow!
You can still pre-order ANAGNORISIS today, though. Thus making sure that… the sale gets locked in, I suppose. It feels important, though. Maybe it’s a morale thing? Yeah, that makes sense. I just had the most frustrating afternoon, trying to get short story title headings working in Scrivener/Open Office. Curse you, .docx! We hates you! We hates you forever!

PS: There’s also always FROZEN DREAMS, too!
The FOR BLOOD & COIN RPG Kickstarter.
I don’t know if I’m going to back BLOOD & COIN. I’m not likely to play it and I’ve done a bunch of Kickstarters lately. But it’s by the same folks who did the MONSTER HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL RPG sourcebook, which is a plus; so is the fact that Gallant Knight Games indicated in the text that they’re using a local printer. There’s another, nameless Kickstarter that didn’t discuss their printer – and you will notice that they’re not getting free ad space on this site.
I don’t like doing it, but this is the world we live in, now. I want to know if my gaming material is being made using PRC slave labor. If you don’t tell me, I increasingly have to assume the worst.
Tweet of the Day, I Would FREAK If It Happened To My Kid edition.
Seriously, it’s really, really good that they captioned this with the disclaimer that the kid is fine. I don’t think I could watch it, otherwise. As it was… that’d be a hell of an amusement park ride.
