10/14/20 Snippet, PATCHWORK GOD.
Ms. Stewart and Mr. Cosgrove are not… exactly nice people, sometimes.
Patreon!“…I can use your Tome here to show the process; I suppose it still feels pain?”
“Yes,” I said. “Given how the pain is what’s keeping it from trying to break free. Which we really need to take care of as soon as possible, by the way.” A small fib: I’ve kept a Blasphemous Tome alive and flapping for at least two days without problems. But that was a wimpy one; besides, Jack and I really, really needed to eat.
Pat pursed her lips. “I guess we can show and tell,” she said. “Can you cut away the Tome’s psyche from the rest of it?”
“Yes,” said Jack. “Do you wish it done now? We usually save that task for last.”
“Please do,” Pat said. “Although: is it harder to cut it away at the beginning?”
I smiled as Jack extruded claws and began delicately slicing at the book. “Not at all,” I said as the Tome tried to flip in the air from the cuts; one of my hands whipped out to pin it to the table. “But psyches taste better when marinated in despair,” I explained.
Last day of the DAUGHTER OF THE LILIES Kickstarter.
More of a reminder for Daughter of the Lilies fans to hit the Kickstarter if they haven’t, yet: they funded and hit their stretch goals, and are apparently not going to push it. Which is something that I’m keeping in mine for my next one. Although there is that one blue-sky stretch goal… ah, I say too much.
Alan Moore’s PROVIDENCE Compendium to be reissued (already got mine).
(Via Facebook) Come, I will conceal nothing from you: I did not rush here to reveal the news that Alan Moore is rereleasing his epic PROVIDENCE Lovecraftian comic series. Nope. First I went and pre-ordered a copy, because the Damned Thing sells at mildly obscene prices and I suspect they’re gonna sell out this print run pretty fast. But, now that I’ve confirmed that I pre-ordered it, I can safely let everybody else know.
Sorry not-sorry about that.
Reviewing edits, TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Vol 1.
First story’s back from the editor; gratifyingly, it had a reasonable lack of the editing oopsies I kept making when I was writing FROZEN DREAMS. Editing going on, artwork back from the artist… at this rate, I’m going to start believing that I have another book in the process of being published. Geez.

Music called for THE MANDALORIAN second season teaser trailer.
The SCREAM Honest Trailer.
Truth be told, I never got into SCREAM. If for no other reason than the plot got resolved pretty quickly when firearms appeared, and I dunno if there was any reason for guns not to show up earlier. I know, I know: then why have a film? But there wasn’t even any, you know, undead or anything. At least have a Kevlar vest, hey?
Got an artist for REVISIONARY!
Ben Fleuter‘s back on his feet enough to do some commissions, and I’m happy to shunt some paying work his way. I expect that eventually I’ll be collecting ANAGNORISIS, REVISIONARY, and another four stories-with-illustrations into one big book of short stories; I just haven’t decided whether to make a third chapbook first or not. Either way, look for REVISIONARY before the end of the year. Hopefully.
Oh, hey, today’s Prime Day.
Well, today and tomorrow. I grabbed a couple of movies that I’ve been meaning to grab (The Gentlemen and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood), which makes this a banner Amazon Prime Day for me. I was kind of astounded, in fact. There’s quite a bit that Amazon does very, very well — but I’ve never been impressed with their ability to do a mass sale. I dunno; maybe the algorithm needs more tweaking. Or the AI in their cloud isn’t reliably at full sapience yet.
BRING ME THE HEAD OF THE COMTE DE SAINT-GERMAIN (Unknown Armies) available for pre-order.
Just what it says on the tin: Atlas Games is making their Unknown Armies adventure BRING ME THE HEAD OF THE COMTE DE SAINT-GERMAIN available for presale. Pre-order the physical book, get the PDF now and the book itself in January. Pretty good deal there, folks.
The TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Vol 1 Kickstarter launches in a week!
Sign up here to be notified of the TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Vol 1 launch. I’ve been fiddling with the rewards tier and the stretch goals; I’ve got a blue-sky stretch goal that I don’t really expect to hit, but if I do then it’ll simplify next year considerably. I like Kickstarter, but I don’t want to over-use it or even rely on it too recklessly. The sooner I don’t need it, the better for everybody, right?

PS: Spreadsheets. Not a ridiculous number of them, but whoever first told me there would be no math in a writing career was a filthy, filthy liar.
