‘You Gotta Be.’
SpaceX grinds satellite deployment.
They launched Falcon 9 to put another sixty satellites in orbit for SpaceX’s full-coverage internet Starlink project. Fun fact: there’s a thousand up there by now (out of a projected forty thousand). Another fun fact: that’s the ninth time the company used that booster.
I may be happier about this than the ongoing work on a no-fooling rocketship. The tests of their heavy rockets are genuinely exciting and fascinating, yes. No argument there. But this stuff with the Falcons is what’s going to end up making space a hell of a lot cheaper to exploit. And I’m very happy that somebody’s doing the tedious work involved.
The ‘FOUR DAYS UNTIL THE SNYDER CUT’ JUSTICE LEAGUE trailer.
I understand your skepticism, or outright disbelief. And I cannot say that such attitudes are unjustified. They are justified: DC movies have an uneven track record, at best. Any sensible person would vote the odds. So I do not scorn contrary opinions.
I merely do not care, because: Omega Beams.
Thursday.
Tweet of the Day, You May Actually Care About This Grammy Award edition.
It was won by a guy in Weird Al’s band.
I'm so incredibly happy and proud to say that Jim "Kimo" West, my amazingly talented friend who has played guitar in my band for nearly 40 years, has just won his first Grammy (for Best New Age Album). Congratulations, @westernmost!

More Guitar Stories, and I’ve heard Jim West play in person. He’s a Righteous Dude.
Patreon Microfiction: Imagine the Manga.
They’re not Japanese in ‘Imagine the Manga,’ by the way. Or Japanese-descended. I got this entire mythology for their schools (there are four), first taught in the Street of Fortifications…

‘Rebels of the Sacred Heart.’
Reminder: DST starts tomorrow.
Insert obligatory reactions here. I’ll say this for Daylight Savings Time: the first night, the kids just tumble into bed. It’s very soothing.

PS: It’s been a long week, honestly. Monday is going to be a battery-recharge day, assuming I can find somewhere to go that’s relaxing. I may just hide in the car.
Tweet of the Week, Congrats to Karl! edition.
Well-deserved.

I’ve read Storm Between the Stars. It’s good.
Book of the Week: Justice Wing: Plan, Prototype, Produce, Perfect
Eric Burns-White’s Justice Wing: Plan, Prototype, Produce, Perfect just came in the mail. Yup, bought it in paperback. There’s just something satisfying about seeing a print sale.
It’s Tax Weekend!
Sort of. I am discovering right now the glorious tax paperwork that occurs when you have, you know, actual business expenses. And this is just the basic stuff, too. I’m not even getting into claiming my amortized computer time or whatever it’s supposed to be. I figure the esoteric stuff can wait for later, when I have a handle on reporting things.
