Is… the CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG live-action supposed to be a comedy?
I mean, the trailer’s cut that way, sure. And the cartoon certainly is* a comedy. But seeing CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG in real life kind of points out the mayhem and property damage implicit in his wandering through NYC like a baby kaiju. And it’s only gonna get worse, because that is not his final form. He gets bigger.**

PS: Full points for the Wilhelm Scream, by the way. At least somebody on that production was aware.
*Of course I’ve seen it. I have kids. Which means, sure, that I haven’t so much seen it as I’ve had it soaked into my body via osmosis.
**Hopefully he’ll avoid becoming this. Although that’s an animated show I’d enjoy watching.

THE MANY SAINTS OF NEWARK is a Sopranos prequel, and it is not without interest.
The casting looks very good, aside from everything else. The actors and actresses playing younger versions of their Sopranos counterparts look like they’re younger versions, which isn’t always easy. This might not suck.

That got a snort of laughter out of me, let me tell you. “Rot? I wish! Every preacher in town’s asked for that very thing. The damned Place won’t do us the favor of falling apart.”
And then I made a mistake: I tried to tell her what was going on, kind of. I leaned forward and said, “Look. They probably told you, back in training, that it can get weird out here in the middle of the country. People in those Midwest towns will be a little funny in the head sometimes, right? That’s what going on here. There’s a spooky haunted house, we’re all scared to death of the Place, everybody stays away.”
I sat back. “But nobody lives at that address, so why should the Census care? Check it off the list, ma’am. You can call your supervisors first, if you like — but they’ll tell you the same thing. Check the haunted house off the list, go on to the next residence. Soonest begun, soonest done and you can get out of here. You don’t have to care about what’s going on in the weird places. It’s not your job to care.”

March 26-27, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in DC. Which is incidentally going to be a stone-cold pain in the ass to drive to (I’m a vendor now, remember?), but you can’t have everything. Worst-case scenario, I just run a few games as usual.

Couldn’t get much work done tonight.
Releasing my stuff into the wild — stuff that people have paid for — is always fraught for me, even after the fact. Particularly when I’m mordantly sure that it’s in the process of blowing up, only I haven’t noticed yet. But surely I would know by now if it had, right?
On the bright side, I literally have nowhere to be for the next month. The days of travel are done, at least for me. Which is good, because there’s a ton of stuff to write and the house needs a good cleaning.
