POWERPUFF live reboot to be repiloted.
Not gonna lie, I’m not really fully up to speed on the lingo. But it certainly sounds like somebody took a look at the POWERPUFF pilot and said “This sucks:”
Powerpuff, based on the original Cartoon Network animated series, will be reworked and repiloted off-cycle. The four leads — Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, Yana Perrault and Donald Faison — as well as other cast and the writers-producers all remain on board the project, from Warner Bros TV/Berlanti Prods.
For now, at least. Nobody’s going to listen to me on this, obviously, but perhaps the problem they’re having with the show is that it’s harder than it looks to successfully sneer at your target audience? Really: ‘disillusioned twentysomethings‘ are hardly a rare commodity in media, these days. Neither is their message of being in their twenties, and disillusioned. Hell, you can’t get them to ever shut up.
So maybe make a show where the kids didn’t grow up to be walking wounded? If only for the novelty value. This angsty, apologetic stuff gets real old.

Patreon!Vinnie knew something about how to case a place and do a scout, and Pete wasn’t about to ask why. Working with organized crime like this was probably a mistake, but forty grand was a lot of money. Besides, he could tell the mob guy was interested in the work. Vinnie kept asking questions, and they weren’t dumb ones.
“Okay, a rundown place makes sense,” Vinnie said, as the two of them looked at the abandoned warehouse. It was only one story, the windows were so grimy they might as well have been boarded up, and a big padlock was on the front door. Around back there was another door, out of sight of the street, and that wasn’t locked. “But isn’t this out of the way? There ain’t nobody around here but bums.”
“That’s the idea,” Pete replied as they crouched in the bushes. “Liches like to lair up. You gotta, when you’re a walking skeleton with burning eyes. Besides, it doesn’t need food or water or even electricity to get comfy. As long as the roof doesn’t leak, it’s gonna be happy.”

The guy had shown up the previous night: he called himself Vinnie, and wouldn’t give a last name. That made things a little awkward, because Pete had stopped being a trusting sort about five minutes after hearing his first siren. The monster kind. But a quick call to Joey confirmed that yeah, Vinnie was going to do a ride-along. Just to make the clients feel better about all the money they were spending, capisce?
“All right,” Pete said. “But if he dies, he dies.” He said that as flatly as he could. It must have succeeded, because after he said that it got a little quiet on the phone.
Eventually Joey replied, “Maybe you should try to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
“Or maybe you should try and get another monster hunter,” Pete said without hesitation. “I’ll give you the fee back right now; you can go find an idiot who’ll try to take care of the job and your guy. This ain’t like cleaning out rats or wasps. Hell, it ain’t like cleaning out a cave full of grizzlies. These things, they like to eat faces, and they’re good at it.”
