Didn’t write anything new today…
…and I can’t imagine why. On the other hand, I mostly caught up on edits of the new book. I didn’t need as much concentration to do that.
I’ll be glad when I’m on the other side of this procedure.
Tweet of the Day, My Personal Favorite Penny Arcade Strip’s Anniversary! edition.
I dunno if it’s their best, but I love this Penny Arcade strip above all others. The aesthetic here sings to me.

The Gloriously Stupid And Hysterical BIG FREAKING RAT Trailer.
I’m not telling you to see this movie. BIG FREAKING RAT is undoubtedly going to be, to quote GeekTyrant, “so freakin’ stupid.” But the trailer is worth your time.
Not least because the filmmakers understand what you want to see. You want to see the BFR, in all of its cheesy glory. And gory. Lots and lots of gory. And they deliver. …Although I’ll be damned if I know where you can find the movie (it definitely isn’t on Amazon: not even the ‘you might as well stick it there’ parts). Then again: that’s probably for the best.

‘Hand in My Pocket.’
Going to be a weird week.
Well, not weird; just kind of wearying. I’m going in for my hernia on Tuesday, which means that pretty much everything from Tuesday morning to probably Thursday just isn’t happening, and I’ll be a half-step behind for the rest of the week. It’s not a hospital stay sort of situation, thank God, but neither is gonna be fun. But they will fix the hernia, which is nice. Hopefully it’ll stay fixed, too, because it’s where they did the surgery for the gallbladder.
Am I worried about it? Ehh, maybe slightly. There’s always the chance for a complication. But even in the worst-case scenario I should be fine. In my fifties*, but fine.

*Alas, there’s no procedure that can fix that.
A new installment of my (free) Pulp SF serial THE BOLD MARAUDER is up!
New Patron, new installment. If we get to $200/month, there’ll be a new installment every week!
Patreon!Patreon Microfiction: Sympathy.
Probably the narrator in ‘Sympathy’ was intellectually aware about human limitations. But did he know it, deep in his guts? Probably not. Well, definitely not, because I wrote him that way. And plausibly, I feel.

It actually had me going for half a minute.

Possibly because it’s based on a real ad campaign. Which is extra-clever, because “Dodge Blindfold Test” brings back real hits. You have to look at the pictures before you realize that the picture above is a parody of something that actually existed.

‘Werewolves of London.’
It’s not that I don’t want an Elder-Scrolls style RPG (The Wayward Realms).
It’s that I’m not impressed by THE WAYWARD REALMS trailer.
Yes, it’s a teaser and the final version won’t be out for years. But it feels a little… non triple-A. I’d have been happier if they had delayed the trailer for a few more months.
And get off my lawn!
