The BLACK WIDOW Honest Trailer.
I think Honest Trailers liked BLACK WIDOW more than they want to admit.
Because, and this is the God’s honest truth: BLACK WIDOW is not one of the innovative MCU flicks. It’s fun and I liked it, but it really should have come out after CIVIL WAR (not that this really matters now; people will watch these flicks in in-universe chronological order). It’s a big action flick that drastically tones down the overt superheroics*, which makes it a bit of a throwback in that regard, so you’d expect Honest Trailers to be more cruel in their snark. But they weren’t.
Guess they’re a little less sophisticated over there than they like to present themselves? – But that’s all right. It’s okay to just like things because they’re cool.

*Except for the damage soaks. Then again: I played a lot of superhero RPGs, so I’m personally fine with the idea that the Talented Normal PC can use the more forgiving injury and recovery rules.

Points to Bezos for being on the first one, too. I’m not ashamed to admit that in his place I might have been more thoughtful about acquiring that particular honor. Although I’d like to think I would have gone for it, too.

Witherby looked inclined at first to make a bit of gallows-humor, but restrained himself and instead gave the scene a proper look. His brow furrowed, then relaxed. “It’s the gates, Your Grace. They’ve been blown outward, not inward. And none of the bodies are facing towards the mine.”
“So, an escape then?”
“Perhaps, Your Grace. But an escape from what?”
“Who cares?” The two turned to look at Jimmy. He didn’t seem particularly panicked, but Carlotta could see the new tenseness in his frame. “Whatever it is, it killed everybody. There’s nobody here to save. So, begging both your pardons, but we should just bloody well leave, before we get noticed.”
MCU’s BLADE gets a director.
As is traditional, we will all now go “Who?”
Marvel Studios’ upcoming vampire movie Blade has taken a big step forward with the hiring of a director. The filmmaker that has been hired for the job is Bassam Tariq, who best known for directing the Riz Ahmed film Mogul Mowgli.
I’ve looked up the film, and it’s a 2020 drama that critics loved and nobody saw. Marvel Studios loves finding directors like that, frankly. All you have to do is give ’em creative control and a ton of money, and they’ll make you some blockbusters… okay, now that I’ve written that out it actually sounds like a pretty good deal for everybody involved. I mean, there are worse things out there for one’s future career prospects than having people go Oh, you did SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING? That was a good flick.
So let’s see how the new BLADE goes.
