I’ll be backing this, naturally. Anything that gets more people interested in the Secret World Legends MMO, which would means updates to the MMO. I might even be tempted to write a scenario or two for it, although it’d require me getting deeper into 5e D&D. Still, worth it for the personal satisfaction, if nothing else…

PS: I won’t be at LibertyCon, myself: too far to sell books, and I didn’t know about it until a week ago anyway. Although I do have to start thinking about how I plan to sell books at venues that are more than an hour or so away…

This is not turning into a great year for DC movies.
They’re reportedly thinking of recasting/minimizing Amber Heard in AQUAMAN 2, and Ezra Miller is in the wind and evading a restraining order. Because, yeah, that’s not gonna have any effect on THE FLASH’s box office. …Look, I grew up on DC comics, okay? The Justice League was my jam. All of this is kind of embarrassing to watch.

The very disappointing BATMAN AZTECA news.
It’s not that I don’t want a Batman set in the Aztec Empire. It’s just that this is… stupid.
The story is set in the time of the Aztec Empire, and it centers on Yohualli Coatl, a young Aztec boy who experiences tragedy when his father and village leader, Toltecatzin, is murdered by Spanish Conquistadors. “Yohualli escapes to Tenochtitlan to warn King Moctezuma and his high priest, Yoka, of imminent danger. Using the temple of Tzinacan, the bat god, as a lair, Yohualli trains with his mentor and assistant, Acatzin, developing equipment and weaponry to confront the Spaniard invasion, protect Moctezuma’s temple, and avenge his father’s death.”
And not just for the obvious reason that the conquistadors conquered the Aztecs in the first place because every single one of the Aztecs’ neighbors hated those cannibalistic, human-sacrificing motherf*ckers, and wanted them to all die, screaming. It’s because there’s no way you can do ‘Aztecs as good guys’ AND have ‘time to cut out some people’s hearts!’ I mean, sh*t. That would be total Joker-bait. “I was told to have a heart, Bats, and I said to myself: why stop at only one?”
But they don’t have the nerve.

JOKER 2: the musical! Starring… Lady Gaga.
No, I’m not making this up:
A big name is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Joker 2, which has entered development under the working title of Joker: Folie à deux. THR reports that pop culture icon Lady Gaga, who has found great success in both film and music, is in early talks to star in the film. If these talks work out, Gaga would be starring as a new incarnation of Harley Quinn, the supervillain played by Margot Robbie in the DCEU.
Assuming this gets made, it’s… I don’t know what it is. It could be brilliant. It could be unwatchable. It could be brilliantly unwatchable. It’ll almost certainly piss a lot of people off, either way (or both).

PS: On the bright side? At least Lady Gaga can both sing and act. So there’d probably be some decent tunes coming out of this.
