Had a conversation today on the Fermi Resolution RPG supplement.
Mostly on what I’ll have to do to get it up to DriveThru RPG POD standards. The answer was “Do some rearranging, add the usual What is a Roleplaying Game? and the not-so-usual What is this game really about?, fix some of the formatting, and get a decent character sheet together.” All plus the costs to do it, which weren’t horrible. I didn’t think they would be, but I needed a baseline.
I was also given the recommendation to do up as a Kickstarter to cover the costs for getting it ready for print, but if that happens it’d be something for 2023. We’ll see.
GHOSTS ON AN ALIEN WIND Revisions, 10/05/2022: 63270/80000.
Half of it is revising chapters, the other half is working on bits that need to be inserted into chapters. Slowish going, but necessary.

“What do you think of the terrorists, The Process?”
“In general, Wind-Walker Tanaka, or in the context of this particular situation?”
‘In general?’ That was new. “Let’s start with the first one.”
“I think that they are humans. Before you ask” — and yes, I was — “I say that because many of your people try to treat them as some sort of Other. Much like you do the space-happy, although there are significant differences between the two.”
“Both murder people, when they get the chance.”
“I would suggest that both murder people, when they feel the need,” The Process pointed out, in that ultra-reasonably way it has. “I can readily agree with the human assessment that the space-happy are violently insane, because they are. Their motivations are clouded by delusions, and their actions tainted by bloodlust. You cannot reason with the space-happy, only cure or kill them.”
“So far, I’m not arguing with you,” I replied. “So what are the terrorists, then? The violently sane?”
I meant it as a joke, but The Process wasn’t laughing. “Exactly! They are people who have observed their situation, made logical conclusions based on what they have observed, and are now acting accordingly. Their actions and reactions are reliable, where the madman’s is not.”
The ‘Maybe not in their twenties, but definitely in their thirties’ SHOTGUN WEDDING trailer.
Geez, are Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel vampires? No, wait, they can be filmed. Still, it’s a bit of a mystery, no?
The 1987: BLOOD OF THE BAT Batman/Vampire Proof of Concept trailer.
I agree with GeekTyrant: Warner Bros would never make this in a million years. Which is a shame, because 1987: BLOOD OF THE BAT would make for a killer (heh) Batman flick. Something that determinedly retro would be pretty cheap to make, too. Alas…

10/05/2022 Update, GHOSTS ON AN ALIEN WIND: 61968/80000.
Yeah, I stayed up late to make wordcount. I have to get this under control. GHOSTS ON AN ALIEN WIND has to be in draft form this month. No ifs, ands, or buts.
Movie of the Week: John Carpenter’s THE THING.
I picked THE THING because Eldest Son needed some experience watching gory movies on the screen before deciding whether or not to catch a horror flick tomorrow. You can’t go wrong with the classics, right? — He found it very entertaining, too. Which means we’re probably going to go see SMILE, after all*.

*Which I wasn’t gonna catch, but he wants to see it and I can’t just drop him off to go see an R-rated movie by himself. It’s apparently forbidden until he’s 18, or some other nonsense. I mean, have the ratings boards seen the video games kids play today?

The ATOMIC ROBO AND THE VENGEFUL DEAD Hardcover Kickstarter.
There was another Kickstarter that dropped today, called ATOMIC ROBO AND THE VENGEFUL DEAD HARDCOVER EDITION. Tesladyne described it as follows: “wherein the robot punches some vampires.” Having read it, I can readily agree that this is what the story is about. If you’re into that sort of thing, it’s a thing worth backing*.
*I am into that sort of thing.
The SECRET WORLD TTRPG Kickstarter is live! And I regret nothing!
Nothing, you hear me?!? Nothing!

PS: By the way, it would be really cool if everybody in the world bought my books, now. I know, I know, it would always be really cool – but right now there is perhaps a little urgency involved.

The unique frustration of Goth Chicken.
There’s a sketch in here. I can see it. I just can’t translate it into something my fingers can do.

I’m hoping Photoshop will help, but I’m not confident.
