I… have been distracted all day.
I mean. I have a print TTRPG out. I have wanted to say this for decades. I started with TTRPGs, and moved over to fiction. And now I have a book! It is… discombobulating, to say the least. Sure, I’ve published stuff, but never something like this.
This feeling will pass, I’m sure. But for right now I feel like I reached for a step that isn’t actually there, and now I’m standing at the top of the stairs. What now?

PS: I actually know the answer to that last one: more stuff.
The Fermi Resolution Worldbook proof!
(Digital version of the Fermi Resolution Worldbook is here.)
Oh?

Oh.

Oh.

I need to look it over, pretty carefully. My first pass-through revealed nothing egregious, but I should still check. If I find nothing… I’ll say what happens next.

Patreon Microfiction: ‘Make Sure You Get The Good Stuff.’
Although they probably should. Make it non-potable, that is. Perhaps it’s very easy to turn off drunkenness in the world of ‘Make Sure You Get The Good Stuff’?

To give you an idea of yesterday.
That’s me, in the white canopy. Fortunately, that’s NOT me, in the vendor space currently occupied by a burning pine tree.
Over on Earth-Two, I had already put up my distinctive banner up (that's my space in the foreground). Over on Earth-THREE, I had also put my vendor space name on the canopy itself. Which I'm now considering doing. https://t.co/Tb8EFF6W6o pic.twitter.com/rXi0xdHyhX

Also, don’t worry about that guy in white. That’s actually a mannequin wearing some kind of hazmat suit. They moved their stuff away in time.

And now on Sprockets, we crash.
Everything’s in, I’ve made sure the Patreon stuff is up, and I am beat. Good night.
Books of the Week: The NESS Series (Ring of Fire).

I ran into Bjorn Hasseler today! He’s the author of the NESS series in the Ring of Fire alternate history… matrix, or whatever you could call it. His contribution focuses on Neustatter’s European Security Services (NESS), a company formed by down-time Germans to do various tasks that would not be unfamiliar to the more ethical adventuring parties. Nice guy, good series, check it out.

…Well, THAT was a time.
There was a fire and propane gas explosion that rained smoldering pine needles hither and yon (good thing I bought insurance). There was a parade cancelation, and a brief report that the whole thing was canceled. There was at least one fight (that got shut down in fifteen seconds by the cops). There was even supposedly somebody who tried to drive through the festival to get to work, only to be dragged out of his car — although that’s not in the news.
It’s been a day! I came close to making my table fee anyway. In fact, I might have been able to break even if there hadn’t been an explosion and parade cancelation and break in the festival path.
Still… I’m not sure I’m going back next year. No offense to the staff and everything, but they throw a pretty lively event. Maybe a bit too lively for my tastes.

PS: Help out a fellow and buy my books, will ya?
I am at the festival!
Which was briefly on fire, through no fault of the festival itself, which is why I’m not giving the name.
Post-fire. Dont mind me: a bunch of other people are having REALLY bad days. Nobody hurt, thank God. pic.twitter.com/NEJ1C4VZnS

Not seen: fire damage to the canopy. Burning pine needles which were mostly extinguished by the time they got down this far, thank God. I was never in any danger, and neither were the books, but I’m kind of glad I got that insurance for the day…
PS: I have literally no idea how well this day is gonna go. For the love of God, if there’s anybody on the fence about buying a book from me, now is the time to make a decision.
