Taxes and Remodeling
Remodeling your home is going to be expensive. No if, ands, or buts about it. There is the architect, the materials, and the contractor to break it down into a few large categories. But, that is not all, oh no, not all. There may be taxes to consider!
The first tax will probably be the smallest tax attached to your remodel and that is any sales tax. Sales taxes vary widely across the country. Some areas do not have it at all. Sales taxes are added to the purchase most things that we buy. In California, sales tax is not charged on food.
