Across the Street Available for pre-order now!
All,
I wanted to let you know that my next novel, Across the Street, is available now for pre-order on Amazon at only 99¢. The book goes live on Amazon on October 13 in Kindle Unlimited, Kindle, and paperback formats.
Across The Street is a story about identical twins, surrogacy, and the emotional, moral, and legal ramifications that ensue when one twin carries a baby for the other. After years of separation, twin sisters Sam and Alex are overjoyed to be reunited when Sam moves across the street from Alex in Scottsdale. But for Sam, one thing mars her happiness. After a long struggle with fertility and having lost her only child to SIDS, her one remaining hope to have another child is to ask her twin sister Alex to be her surrogate. Alex would do anything for her beloved Sam, but being a surrogate for her twin sister tests the limits of her devotion and shakes the foundation of her marriage and relationships with her two teenage children.
I also am an identical twin, so the idea of how much one twin would sacrifice for the other especially intrigued me. Of course, the story is completely fiction, so the answer is "no, I have never served as a surrogate for my twin sister." However, being a twin (and a wife and mother) allowed me to infuse reality into the story and its characters.
Across the Street was actually the fist of my eight novels that I completed, and I am so glad to finally see it professionally published.

Of course, feel free to contact me with any questions.

As some of you may know, I am an identical twin, so the idea of how much one twin would sacrifice for the other especially intrigued me. Of course, the story is completely fiction, so the answer is "no, I was never asked to be a surrogate for my twin sister." However, being a twin (and a wife and mother that raised her family in Scottsdale) allowed me to infuse reality into the story and its characters. Across the Street was actually the first of the eight novels that I completed, and I am so glad to finally see it professionally published.
I also wanted to extend a limited invitation to 10 of my blog subscribers to receive an Advanced Reader Copy ("ARC") of Across the Street. We are almost done preparing the ARC proofs and should be able to provide them to those participating in the ARC program in the next 1-2 weeks. If you would like to participate in the ARC program, please be sure to visit my website (https://laurielisa.com/), join my Reader List, and send an email confirming your request. We are limiting this offer to the first 10 subscribers that respond, so act quickly if you are interested.
I have only one request for those that would like to receive an ARC: please leave an honest and thoughtful review on both Amazon and Goodreads as soon as Across the Street is released to the public.
As always, I encourage you to reach out via email with any comments, requests, or questions. I also am available to host an online book club meeting if any of you are interested in a group discussion about The Wine Club.
Thanks so much for reading my books, and please stay healthy!
