Do We Need FEMA?
As hurricane season 2025 begins. we can all agree that our plans for the months ahead are much different from 20 years ago.
Meanwhile, the current head of FEMA selected by the new administration recently joked that he didn’t know the United States had a hurricane season.
FEMA is the topic of discussion for our most recent episode of The Slingshot From Levees.org.
Twice a month, the show features an expert panel discussing all kinds of current events. The core panel includes me and Rudy Vorkapic, local celebrity, news reporter, editor, owner of the consulting business Levee Media. And Stuart Lob, mechanical engineer who has been an active participant with LeveesOrg since its founding.
Check out our latest show about FEMA and why the country needs it.
Be sure to subscribe to the show and give it a rating! (Those stars matter.)
There’s also a video format for those who prefer it.
In closing, we are repeating wise words from a wise colleague as we begin hurricane season 2025: “Be prepared to be your first responder.” ~Lt Gen Russel Honore (ret)
