THE IRON WITCH by Karen Mahoney

FREAK. That's what her classmates call seventeen-year-old Donna Underwood. When she was seven, a horrific fey attack killed her father and drove her mother mad. Donna's own nearly fatal injuries from the assault were fixed by magic—the iron tattoos branding her hands and arms. The child of alchemists, Donna feels cursed by the magical heritage that destroyed her parents and any chance she had for a normal life. The only thing that keeps her sane and grounded is her relationship with her best...

Cool Monday

I say that because after a whole week of stifling hot days, the weather's taken a turn for the cool. Seriously, it's kinda chilly this morning. lol.
Well, this week's going to be a super busy one for me. I'm still working on the third/final draft of The Hidden #6. So far, so good. I just tackled another chapter first thing this morning and I'm now sitting here: 164/284 pages. My goal for today is: to get to 168 pages, but I'm hoping to get as close as I can to page 200.
There are two reasons...

THE LILY BARD MYSTERIES #5: Shakespeare's Counselor by Charlaine Harris

Lily Bard just wanted to start life over - but life had different ideas. A thrilling crime series from an international bestseller!
This omnibus contains the titles SHAKESPEARE'S LANDLORD, SHAKESPEARE'S CHAMPION, SHAKESPEARE'S CHRISTMAS, SHAKESPEARE'S TROLLOP and SHAKESPEARE'S COUNSELOR.

Lily Bard is starting over again. She's disguised herself as much as she can, cutting her hair short and wearing baggy clothes and she's moved to Shakespeare, Arkansas, where, working as a cleaning lady, she...

Hot in the City

I love the smell of a new day in the summer. It's a lovely way to start the day. ;)
Hubby had to be at work real early this morning, so we had to get up at four. It always feels strange getting up at that hour, yet, it's also nice. I kinda like being awake while everyone else around us is still hours away from waking. It makes me feel like I can get a headstart on things. :)
I took advantage of it by revising another chapter of The Hidden #6. I've now reached pg127/284. My target for today is 1...

DANCING ON THE HEAD OF A PIN by Thomas E. Sniegoski

Still mourning the loss of his wife, fallen angel Remy Chandler has immersed himself in investigating dangerous supernatural cases. His latest: the theft of a cache of ancient weaponry stolen from a collector who deals in antiquities of a dark and dubious nature. The weapons, Remy knows, were forged eons ago and imbued with unimaginable power. And if they fall into the wrong hands, they could be used to destroy not only Heaven but also Earth.
After reading the first Remy Chandler book, I was l...

Hot & Bothered

Yeah, that's how I felt yesterday. Yikes!

It was so darn hot here in Sydney. The heat didn't let up at all, even into the night. Still, in spite of that (or maybe because of it) I slept really well last night. I even had some really cool dreams...
Anyway. I wonder if it's going to be another hot one today. Probably. It looks pretty sunny out there and I'm already feeling the heat, lol.
Well, I've been hard at work on The Hidden #6 revision. I even managed to squeeze in another chapter this...

Hey, it's Monday...

...and I'm feeling good. Wonder how long that will last? lol.
No, seriously, I'm all ready to get stuck into the third/final draft of The Hidden #6. Of course, there'll be editing in the future, but all I want to do right now is make it as shiny as I can before submitting it to my awesome editor.
The first thing I did was change the font from Courier (which I like to use for first and second drafts, for some bizarre reason) to Times, which actually means that the total page count went down...
