Kathryn Ford has been writing from a young age. Even if it was just about ponies having a picnic or a girl picking up a stray kitten. She has always loved reading and writing. By the age of eleven she had read all the Braille books in the school library and had to join the National Library for the Blind. She read anything she could, but was always drawn to epic fantasy. The ability to get lost in a magical world really appealed to her.

After completing matric she then went to the University of the Free State to study English Literature, French and History. In 2010 she graduated with a B.A. honours degree. After graduating she worked as a researcher, during which time Kathryn attempted to right a number of novels. However none of these initia

Hi Monique, I hope you are well? :)
Yes I do get writer's block, it is such a pain! Normally what I do is put the book away for a while and try and work on something else, even if it is just a journal entry or a poem, just something to keep writing. If you can force your way through that writing block, then normally you find the desire for your original story returning. :)(less)

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all doing well, and that you had a very Merry Christmas and will have a happy new year. Surely 2021 has to be better than this year.

This year I’ve read over 70 books and I thought that I’d like to share my top ten books, or sometimes, series with you. They are in no particular order. So let’s start.

It was better than the first book because we get to follow Marina for half of the book and her story is interesting. On the other hand John is still very stupid. The attempt to chuck in a love triangle was annoying. And the dialogue is still bad.

J.K. Rowling
“It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

H.P. Lovecraft
“Throw a stick, and the servile dog wheezes and pants and stumbles to bring it to you. Do the same before a cat, and he will eye you with coolly polite and somewhat bored amusement. And just as inferior people prefer the inferior animal which scampers excitedly because someone else wants something, so do superior people respect the superior animal which lives its own life and knows that the puerile stick-throwings of alien bipeds are none of its business and beneath its notice. The dog barks and begs and tumbles to amuse you when you crack the whip. That pleases a meekness-loving peasant who relishes a stimulus to his self importance. The cat, on the other hand, charms you into playing for its benefit when it wishes to be amused; making you rush about the room with a paper on a string when it feels like exercise, but refusing all your attempts to make it play when it is not in the humour. That is personality and individuality and self-respect -- the calm mastery of a being whose life is its own and not yours -- and the superior person recognises and appreciates this because he too is a free soul whose position is assured, and whose only law is his own heritage and aesthetic sense.”
H.P. Lovecraft

Sylvia Plath
“I want to taste and glory in each day, and never be afraid to experience pain; and never shut myself up in a numb core of nonfeeling, or stop questioning and criticizing life and take the easy way out. To learn and think: to think and live; to live and learn: this always, with new insight, new understanding, and new love.”
Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath

“Forgive me my nonsense as I also forgive the nonsense of those who think they talk sense.”

Kathryn Ford That is so cool Yaya!! :]
Well, he came with his name, I looked it up, it is Spanish and apparently means fast racer or something like that. I'd rather have a horse with personality, than a horse that just does whatever you want and is completely perfect. Sorry, I have no idea how to attach pics to posts! Have you maybe thought of just taking up lessons. You don't need your own horse for that. I rode at my riding school on the school ponies and horses for 12 years, before I could get my own horsey. :]

message 34: by Lola

Lola Biraldo is unique, I've never heard it before. I rode a horse when I visited Arizona state, in the US, named Joker. His mother, Mythographer, is Secretariat's daughter, which makes Joker Secretariat's nephew... maybe it's a little silly but I felt so honored hehe (^^;) Anyway, he was stubborn too ;) haha. I have a picture but I dunno how to attach it to this post :|
