Monday Blues on a Tuesday

I keep thinking today is Monday because I did nothing I was supposed to do yesterday. I have only two days left to spend on this Mystery Magical-Selection project and instead of writing on this three-day weekend I read, revamped the website (you should totally check it out), and spent time with the family. A much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of life.

I did not finish any books. In fact, I think I'm currently juggling four open books at the moment.

The Darkening by Sunya Mara, Valetti Crime Family by Willow Winters, Fathom by Alexandria James, and Broken Bonds by J. Bree. All of which are great, but I'm a mood reader. And lately, my mood has been funky.

Any suggestions on what to throw into the mix?

Book of the week is now book of the month...

Ya'll I tried.

I wanted to make daily blog posts and Insta posts, but time is not my friend. TikTok is a little easier because I can throw a fun bookish video into the mix but finding the time to create this much content has been hard.

I have seven more days to work on a secret project before I have to jump back into Neverland. I have a hard deadline of August first to finish The Isle of the Lost so it can go through edits and I can get paperbacks printed for giveaways.

I am working on art, stickers, and finishing the plot so it doesn't feel rushed. I really REALLY only want this series to be three books and to make that happen social media needs to fall by the wayside.

So, I will be doing a book of the month instead of the week. Each month there will be a coupon for discounted paperbacks through the site. If you haven't heard, Amazon is raising its printing costs for paperbacks. Unfortunately, that stream rolls down which means you will soon see an increase in book costs. My hope is to keep the prices the same on the website but I will let you know more as time comes.

Hello Asher! Character inspiration Unexpected

Unexpected got its title name for multiple reasons. The biggest that Elaine’s feelings for Asher were…well…unexpected, but for me I never planned to write this story. The idea of a girl hopelessly in love with her best friend came about while I was in the middle of a different story (isn’t that how it always works) and I didn't have time to play with it.

I ignored the conversations that would randomly pop in my head but Elaine was persistent. She wanted her story told! I sat down and had half the book written in a week. But as everyone on my team knows, I am HORRIBLE at timelines and ended up getting myself in a pinch with a different book that needed to be published. I pushed Elaine and Asher to the backburner and there they sat for a year.

A whole year!

Until I came across a set of purple eyes on Pinterest and everything Asher came flooding back. Up until The Lost Darling, this fake dating, frienemies to lovers was my best selling book. Despite being fade to black, it still satisfies all the urges, but who knows, maybe I’ll write an exclusive steamy excerpt. Would anyone be interested in it?

Teaser Tuesday: Unexpected

A teaser is s snapshot of the book. That single moment that either made you swoon or gasp because it’s so steamy. While Unexpected isn’t steamy, there are more than enough moments to make you swoon over Asher. This specific quote is one of the many that hit me hard becasue it’s true.
