Hello Asher! Character inspiration Unexpected
Unexpected got its title name for multiple reasons. The biggest that Elaine’s feelings for Asher were…well…unexpected, but for me I never planned to write this story. The idea of a girl hopelessly in love with her best friend came about while I was in the middle of a different story (isn’t that how it always works) and I didn't have time to play with it.
I ignored the conversations that would randomly pop in my head but Elaine was persistent. She wanted her story told! I sat down and had half the book written in a week. But as everyone on my team knows, I am HORRIBLE at timelines and ended up getting myself in a pinch with a different book that needed to be published. I pushed Elaine and Asher to the backburner and there they sat for a year.
A whole year!
Until I came across a set of purple eyes on Pinterest and everything Asher came flooding back. Up until The Lost Darling, this fake dating, frienemies to lovers was my best selling book. Despite being fade to black, it still satisfies all the urges, but who knows, maybe I’ll write an exclusive steamy excerpt. Would anyone be interested in it?
