Trump Touts ‘Regime Change’ in Iran – Hours After His Lieutenants Promise Limited US Involvement

Mere hours after Donald Trump’s Defense Secretary, generals and other cabinet members sought to assuage fears of another Middle East quagmire by saying the U.S. involvement in Iran would be limited, the president on Sunday signaled on his Truth Social platform that he may have other ambitions.

“It’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!,” Trump posted Sunday afternoon.

The president’s apparent desire to broaden the conflict’s scope – which his lieutenants said Sunday morning would be limited to its nuclear program – came less than 24 hours after the United States bombed three Iranian nuclear sites, causing “severe damage” in a surprise attack but falling short of the “totally obliterated” testing and enrichment sites Trump touted on Saturday night.

On Sunday morning, Secretary of State Marco Rubio vehemently denied that the Trump Administration was seeking regime change in Iran, bristling at the suggestion by host Margaret Brennan. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said at a Sunday morning Pentagon briefing that the conflict “is most certainly not open-ended,” adding that Trump had given him “a focused, powerful and clear mission” that was limited to the overnight strikes.

Trump has said “total surrender” and diplomacy would be the only way forward for Iran, so the statement could be interpreted as a negotiation tactic, as Iranian officials have so far declined to re-enter talks with the West.

Late Sunday night, Trump warned Iran against retaliation, posting:

“ANY RETALIATION BY IRAN AGAINST THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL BE MET WITH FORCE FAR GREATER THAN WHAT WAS WITNESSED TONIGHT. THANK YOU! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.”

Following the Opera War, the old guard is weakened and the Russells stand poised to take their place at the head of society. Bertha sets her sights on a prize that would elevate the family to unimaginable heights while George risks everything on a gambit that could revolutionize the railroad industry — if it doesn’t ruin him first.”

“Across the street, the Brook household is thrown into chaos as Agnes refuses to accept Ada’s new position as lady of the house. News Corp Extends CEO Robert Thomson’s Contract by 5 years

News Corp has extended Chief Executive Robert Thomson’s contract for another five years, the company announced Sunday.

Thomson was first appointed in 2013. The contract extension, which runs through June 2030, “is a recognition of … Thomson’s exceptional track record of transformational leadership, value creation and effective advocacy for journalism and intellectual property protection,” the company said in its statement.

“Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch have adroitly sculpted a company that is passionate and principled and purposeful, and it is a profound privilege to serve as Chief Executive,” Thomson said. “For journalists, for authors, for society, for those who strive and aspire, these are times of immense challenge and boundless opportunity. Our leadership team is acutely conscious of an unwavering responsibility to our shareholders, and we are grateful for the sterling efforts of all our colleagues as we pursue profitability and seek to realise our vast potential.”

News Corp notes that the company delivered its most profitable years from fiscal years 2021 through 2024, with continued performance through 2025.

Since his appointment, “News Corp has undergone significant transformation, with a focus on strategic investments in its core growth pillars — Dow Jones, Digital Real Estate Services and Book Publishing — and delivered its four most profitable years,” the company said. “During this period of dramatic change across media and technology, News Corp has thrived, while many other media entities have floundered.”

Thomson’s tenure has seen the company refocus its revenue base with a focus on recurring digital revenues – about 50% for fiscal 2024, compared with 20% in 2014 – “materially reducing exposure to cyclical advertising.”

The company has also doubled Dow Jones’ profitability, sold Foxtel to DAZN, signed agreements with major tech platforms like OpenAI, and completed key acquisitions of OPIS and Base Chemicals.

“Robert has been instrumental in News Corp’s growth and transformation, and his vision and leadership are extremely important as the company continues to navigate this era of rapid change,” News Corp Chair Lachlan Murdoch said in a statement. “Robert has created exceptional shareholder value, orchestrated a meaningful transformation of our asset base, and made strategic investments in growth drivers like Dow Jones, Digital Real Estate Services and Book Publishing. He is a crucial voice in the fight for publishers and journalists in the digital age, and a strong advocate for intellectual property rights. I look forward to his continued leadership.”

7 Best Family-Friendly Comedies Streaming on Prime Video Right Now

School’s out and summer is officially upon us, which means you might be looking for something to watch for family movie night a bit more often now. It’s good you’ve found your way here.

Each month, movies are added and removed across all streaming platforms, making it hard to keep track of what you can watch and where. So, we’re going to help you out a bit — specifically when it comes to Prime Video. There are plenty of family-friendly films to choose from on the streamer, and of course, we trust you to find something you like.

But, if need some specific recommendations, you can find seven of our favorite family-friendly comedies that are currently streaming on Prime below.

Michelle Monaghan, Adam Sandler and Josh Gad in Michelle Monaghan, Adam Sandler and Josh Gad in “Pixels” (Columbia Pictures)Pixels (2015)

If enjoy the movie “Free Guy,” odds are pretty good you’ll enjoy “Pixels,” which came several years earlier. Starring Michelle Monaghan, Adam Sandler, Josh Gad, Peter Dinklage and more, the film brings video game characters into the real world — sort of.

In reality, Earth is facing an attack by aliens who, having misunderstood a message received decades earlier, think they’ve been challenged to play real versions of classic 80s arcade games. There’s a giant Pac-Man, Donkey Kong; all your favorites are there.

Frankie Muniz and Hilary Duff during The World Premiere of MGM's Frankie Muniz and Hilary Duff during The World Premiere of MGM’s “Agent Cody Banks” – Arrivals / Party at Mann’s Village Theatre in Westwood, California, United States. (Photo by Gregg DeGuire/WireImage)Agent Cody Banks (2003)

This one is definitely more action than comedy, but it does bring laughs just in its premise: a teenage boy gets drafted into the CIA and has to figure out how to be a proper spy. Starring Hilary Duff and Frankie Muniz, this movie is a fun throwback to the early 2000s, and also features Ian McShane and Arnold Vosloo as the villains. Trust us, this makes for an entertaining evening.

Paramount PicturesIF (2024)

“IF” might hit you square in the emotions at a few points, but it’ll also bring the laughs. Released just last year and starring Ryan Reynolds — plus an insanely stacked voice cast — the movie imagines what it would be like if imaginary friends were brought to life. This movie skews a little younger, but it’s a delightful family story.

DisneySeventeen Again (2000)

Yes, we’ve recommended this film before, and we always will. It’s an under-appreciated gem, starring all three of the Mowry siblings. The concept is simple: how would grandparents act if they were suddenly turned back into their 17-year-old selves? The answer: get into trouble almost immediately. “Seventeen Again” is just a fun time, and wasn’t easy to stream for a long time, so you should definitely take advantage.

Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and Linda Cardelini in Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and Linda Cardelini in “Daddy’s Home” (Paramount)Daddy’s Home (2015)

“Daddy’s Home” is rated PG-13, so be aware that it does lean more toward older kid viewers. The comedy stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, and immediately pits them against each other. Ferrell plays the new stepdad to Wahlberg’s kids, and neither of them handles it all that well (despite genuine efforts by Ferrell’s character). Don’t worry, they become buddies in the end, and it even has a sequel, should you enjoy it!

Chloe Coleman and Dave Bautista in ‘My Spy’My Spy (2020)

Dave Bautista may be best known as Drax the Destroyer in the MCU now, but he definitely uses his comedy chops in “My Spy.” In it, he plays a CIA operative who gets caught and subsequently blackmailed by a 9-year-old to teach her how to become a spy (and how to fit in with the kids at her school). It’s a cute team-up, and it even got a sequel.

super-mario-bros-movie universal“Super Mario Bros.” (Universal)The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)

You’ll inevitably have Bowser’s “Peaches” song in your head for a while after watching this, but there are worse earworms to have. “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” is not only family-friendly, but also well-executed. Once you watch it, you could head straight into a family game night too.

Marco Rubio Insists Iran’s Ability to Enrich Uranium Justifies Attack in Heated ‘Face the Nation’ Debate | Video

The U.S. didn’t need proof Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had given an “order to weaponize” the country’s uranium stock ahead of airstrikes against the country, Secretary of State Marco Rubio told “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan Sunday. The Trump administration only needed to know Iran has “everything they need for a nuclear weapon.”

“It doesn’t matter [if] the order was given,” Rubio insisted. “They have everything they need to build nuclear weapons. Why would you bury … things in a mountain, 300 feet under the ground? Why would you bury … why do they have 60% enriched uranium? You don’t need 60% enriched uranium. The only countries in the world that have uranium at 60% are countries that have nuclear weapons, because it can quickly make it 90.”

The numbers in question are important; a purity of 90% is required for weapons-grade uranium. Iran announced the country’s intention to enrich uranium to 60% purity in April 2021. The country previously produced uranium enriched to 19.5%.

Rubio also questioned why Iran has a stock of 8,000 short range missiles and “two to 3,000” mid-range missiles. “They have everything they need for a nuclear weapon. They have the delivery mechanisms, they have the enrichment capability, they have the highly enriched uranium that is stored,” he continued.

“That’s all we need to see,” Rubio added.

Later in the debate, Rubio also insisted Iran does not have a right to “enrich [uranium] at 60%, hide it under a mountain and develop long range and short range and mid-range missiles and sponsor terrorist proxies all over the world.”

He further accused the country of intentionally delaying peace negotiations and disputed claims Iran moved most of its nuclear material from Fordo ahead of the attack. “I mean, the minute a truck starts driving somewhere, the Israelis have seen it, and they’ve targeted it and taken it out. So our assessment is, we have to assume that that’s a lot of 60% enriched uranium buried deep under the ground there in Isfahan,” Rubio said. Isfahan is a city in central Iran.

Brennan questioned Rubio’s insistence that the administration is not attempting a regime change, a point he repeatedly denied. “You’ve said this is not about regime change, but you are describing a regime that you have said for decades, I mean, for upwards of 40 years, has chanted Death to America, has done all the things you just described. Isn’t a diplomatic deal with them a lifeline?” she asked. “Aren’t you offering to negotiate with the same people you’re saying did all these things? So therefore, are you actually looking for regime change?”

A question about a regime change “misses the point” Rubio fired back. “I don’t like that they chant those things. But one thing is that they chant those things. Another thing is that they chant those things, and they have terror proxies all over the world, and they have long range missiles that can reach the United States one day and they have the potential to be one step away from a nuclear weapon —”

” — One day,” Brennan interjected.

“Yeah, well one day could be tomorrow, could be a week from now, could be a month from now. You know, all it takes is the flip of a switch. By the way, they’re not going to broadcast that to the world. By the time we figure out that they’re doing it, you have all the pieces in place,” Rubio retorted.

How ‘Love, Death and Robots’ Creator Tim Miller Got David Fincher to Direct a Wild Red Hot Chili Peppers Music Video

“Love, Death & Robots” has returned.

The critically acclaimed, Emmy-winning animated anthology, created by “Deadpool” director Tim Miller, is back for the first time since 2022. And this year’s crop of stories, which includes “Spider Rose” (a follow-up to the last cycle’s “Swarm”), a bonkers live-action installment from Miller (“Golgotha”) and a World War II-set monster mash (“How Zeke Got Religion”). There is also an entry where sentient appliances fight back against their human oppressors (“Smart Appliances, Stupid Owners”).

Miller is known for selecting the stories for adaptation himself.

“I read a lot and for years, so I have a big library of things that I think are interesting and would make good shorts that I’ve pulled and set aside,” Miller explained. “And every season, you’re trying to curate something that has a little bit for everybody. It can’t just be my taste. Because if it was, it would be boring.” Miller said that he is “not a fan of horror, because it scares me.” “I don’t know why people like to be scared,” he added.

But there are some very scary installments in this season’s batch.

“I can recognize that some people like it. So it should be in the show,” Miller said. He said that the approach is to “curate and try and get something for everybody and then there’s a lot of discussion.” He and executive producer Jennifer Yuh Nelson (she also directed “Spider Rose”) are “constantly moving the pieces around the board but everybody chimes in.” He said that “even the lawyers at Netflix” will tell him “I really love that story” and suggest something for inclusion. “Everybody’s invested in their own lineup for the show,” Miller explained.

And the pile of stories he’s earmarked for potential adaptation with “Love, Death & Robots?” It’s not getting any smaller. “I keep reading new things that are great for the show,” Miller said.

What makes the fourth collection somewhat unique is that several of the stories are either direct continuations of earlier stories or aesthetic successors, like “Close Encounters of the Mini Kind,” which takes its cues from Volume 3’s “Night of the Mini Dead,” with the same tilt-shifted, sped-up style.

“There have been spiritual sequels,” Nelson said. But when it came to “Spider Rose,” a follow-up to Miller’s 2022 entry “Swarm,” she said that American science fiction author Bruce Sterling’s “world is so vast, there’s no way he could have done any sort of justice to it in just one short, although we could try.” She was drawn to the fact that “Spider Rose” explores the other side of a conflict introduced in “Swarm.” “It was a beautiful, emotional little view into a part of that world,” Nelson said. “The story itself was just so nihilistic and gnarly and awful, it was always on the board probably since the very beginning.”

Finally, with Volume 4, they got their chance – a story that Nelson said, at its core, is “an emotional story of this woman dealing with grief.” But, you know, with robots and creatures and all the rest.

Perhaps the most surprising installment in Volume 4 is “Can’t Stop,” directed by David Fincher, another executive producer. This is only the second entry that he had directed, after Volume 3’s “Bad Travelling.” And it could be not more different – whereas that was an epic period piece about a group of fisherman who are hunted by an otherworldly crab, “Don’t Stop” is basically a Red Hot Chili Peppers music video, based on their performance in 2003 at Slane Castle.

While Miller said other directors would act like a kid in the toy store as they picked out their story and the animation studio they chose to work with, Fincher is “the kid that doesn’t go in the toy store. He would just say, ‘I know what I want. Just have it delivered to my house.’”

Originally, Fincher was not going to direct an installment in this cycle. But Miller “needed some star power,” and pleaded with him to direct a short. When Fincher asked Miller what he thought that he should do, Miller said, “A music video.” Fincher was intrigued.

Miller said the reason for his suggestion was for two reasons. “One, because he’s the master of that particular format. Two, because we’d never done it. Third, it’s a controlled time.” Fincher’s last short was the longest “Love, Death & Robots” installment by far – a whopping 20 minutes. “It was not supposed to be 20 minutes. It was supposed to be 15, but that motherf–ker can’t contain himself – and I certainly can’t contain him,” Miller said. The music video format/song length would be “a great way to put the box around it.”

Fincher had the pitch almost from the beginning, telling Miller, “I want to do the Red Hot Chili Peppers as puppets.” Miller said, I got a smile on my face because I knew it would be great.” What made the short so special, he said, was that it has “just the right amount of gags.” And sometimes, when Fincher is playing it straight, that’s where the biggest laughs come from. “I almost think the serious shots are better, more funny, because the ludicrousness of doing it with puppets,” Miller said. Agreed.

“Love, Death & Robots” is streaming on Netflix now.

Bill Belichick Reveals Why Girlfriend Jordon Hudson Was at CBS Interview

Bill Belichick is still defending the decision to allow his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, to participate in his interview with CBS in April. WRAL News reporter Brian Murphy explained Friday that Belichick said Hudson was at the interview because a publicist from his publisher was not.

Murphy added that a source also said “Hudson planned to be there all along.” But, he continued, “it does make you wonder [what would have happened] if the publicists had been there — maybe things would have gone differently.”

Belichick also sought advice from officials at UNC following the debacle. “I don’t want to make a wrong move here,” he wrote in one text.

“Jordon was present at the CBS interview because David Kass, the Simon & Schuster publicist, was not there,” Belichick also wrote in an email, referring to the publisher of his book. “I included Jordon in the book acknowledgments because she was a creative contributor to the book, including having the idea for formatting the 4 special pages in the book.”

“For approximately 35 uninterrupted minutes, Tony asked questions about the book,” Belichick emailed. “Then, the questions shifted to other subjects that were not related to the Art of Winning, which we had outlined as off-limits with my book publicist.”

In one email to Beth Keith, a senior associate vice chancellor in the Office of University Communications, he also accused CBS of recording Hudson without her knowledge. “Secretly, CBS had a camera focused on Jordon where Lead producer Gabe instructed her to sit,” WRAL reported a message read.

“I met Jordon randomly on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021,” he added. “That is no secret. Jordon was not dodging the specific question regarding how we met, but rather was preventing the interview from continuing to probe into personal matters.”

Hudson made waves after she interrupted Belichick’s interview — and the network aired the exchange. Belichick was asked how the two met, which prompted Hudson to interject, “We’re not talking about this.”

“It’s a topic neither one of them is comfortable commenting on,” host Tony Dokoupil then explained in a voiceover.

NBC Sports later reported the moment wasn’t the only time Hudson interrupted the interview. “While we don’t know the total number of interruptions, it’s our understanding that CBS decided to include that one specific instance because it wasn’t a one-time thing,” the outlet wrote.

Hudson’s interruption was jarring for several reasons, but most notably because the interview in question wasn’t hard-hitting journalism (Belichick is promoting his book “The Art of Winning: Lessons From My Life in Football”). “How did you two meet?” is also pretty standard fare when speaking to a couple, or when both parties are present.

CBS did not immediately respond to a request for comment Saturday.

Watch the report on WRAL News.

Trump Says U.S. Has Bombed 3 Nuclear Sites in Iran: ‘Congratulations to Our Great American Warriors’

President Trump said Saturday that the United States completed massive airstrikes on three key nuclear sites in Iran, and that the planes that carried out the mission were safely returning from “an operation the likes of which the world has not seen in many, many decades.”

“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan,” the president wrote on his Truth Social platform just before 8 p.m. Saturday. “All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

The swift action brings the United States directly into the conflict after several days of uncertainty. Trump addressed the nation Saturday night from the White House, calling the strikes “a spectacular military success” and suggesting that U.S. involvement would continue only if Iran remains defiant.

“Iran’s key nuclear facilities have been completely and totally obliterated. Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks will be far greater – and a lot easier,” Trump said. “For 40 years, Iran has been saying ‘Death to America, death to Israel.’ They have been killing our people, blowing off their arms, blowing off their legs with roadside bombs. That was their specialty … I decided a long time ago that I would not let this happen. It will not continue.”

In the runup to the surprise attack, Trump was noncommittal, saying that a decision on whether to join Israel’s military strikes would happen “within two weeks.” But days had barely passed when reports began spreading that U.S. stealth bombers were heading to the region.

The main target, Fordow, was a heavily fortified underground mountain facility critical to Iran’s nuclear program. The other two, Natanz and Esfahan, were large-scale uranium enrichment centers.

Israel hit Natanz several days ago with smaller munitions than what the U.S. brought to bear in the weekend attack. The Esfahan site is where Iran is believed to have stored its bombing-grade enriched uranium.

A senior U.S. official told the New York Times on Saturday that multiple B-2 bombers carried out the strikes. It was believed that only America’s modern bunker-buster bombs – which only U.S. planes have the capacity to deliver – would be effective at Fordow, which was built deeply beneath a central Iranian mountain range.

Iran and Israel had been trading munitions attacks since Friday, when Israeli forces targeted infrastructure and key military leaders inside Iran. The Iranians launched retaliatory ballistic missile strikes into Israel, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said urgent action was required to prevent a nuclear holocaust.

In his address, Trump thanked Netanyahu, saying the two nations “worked as at team like perhaps no team has ever worked before. And we’ve gone a long way to erasing this horrible threat to Israel.”

As Israel ramped up its military efforts in Iran, U.S. leaders remained coy about whether they would assist. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said recently that the only priority at the moment was protecting American forces in the region.

But Trump was more bellicose, threatening Iran supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei personally and saying “Our patience is growing thin,” while also calling for a complete Iranian surrender. Trump then cut short his visit to the G7 summit in Alberta, Canada, flying back to Washington to meet with his military advisers Monday.

The U.S. airstrikes were carried out even as the Iran-Israel conflict was escalating Saturday, as Israeli forces launched their own airstrikes on munitions storage sites and nuclear facilities – in areas over which American airmen would be flying for Saturday’s airstrikes, the Times reported.

Israel’s military said this week it had killed three top commanders from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which has domain over militias throughout the Middle East. Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, said that the Department of State had begun evacuating Americans from the country.

Trump concluded his three-plus minute White House address by saying he was hopeful that U.S. involvement would end with Saturday’s airstrikes – but only if Iran makes peace. If they do not, he said, “we will go after … other targets with speed, precision and skill.”

Trump said Gen. Dan Cane and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth would hold an 8 a.m. ET press conference at the Pentagon on Sunday.

Chris Cuomo Calls Out Trump’s Over-Use of the ‘Two Weeks’ Timeline: ‘He Wants You to Stop Asking’ | Video

Donald Trump says we’ll have a decision on whether to join Israel’s attack on Iran within two weeks. Chris Cuomo has heard this before.

The NewsNation anchor devoted his Friday monologue to extremism – online, in politics and elsewhere – but seemed extremely tuned in to the president’s now over-use of the “two weeks” timeline device.

“We’re looking at Iran right now and whether or not we should bomb,” the former CNN commentator said. “OK, I’ve given you my stance on it. I don’t see that the case has been made that this is something that has to happen, that there’s an imminency.”

That’s where he briefly turned his attention to our collective lack of attention.

“Yes, Trump says ‘two weeks’ a lot when he wants you to stop asking him about something,” Cuomo said. “You’ve seen the clips online: ‘In about two weeks with Russia,’ ‘two weeks with tariffs,’ ‘two weeks with this, with that 2 weeks.'”

Cuomo’s pattern recognition was not steeped in outrage, however – he actually thinks waiting on an Iran decision is the right thing to do, adding: “I’m OK with it here.”

But as a stalling tactic, Cuomo sees through it:

“Yes, I think it’s a device that the president uses because he knows there’s no way we’re still talking about this in two weeks,” he said. “No way. We do not have the focus. We do not have the national attention span. We will be on to something else. I know it’s crazy.”

Watch the entire clip in the video above.
