All depends on whose point of view….
What are you good at?
It depends on whom you ask. I like to think I’m good at writing and painting but whether others have the same opinion is what all creative people need to know.
Sometimes the reviews of our work by others can be painful, but helpful as it let us know we are on the right track. It’s why book reviews are in important along with sales of artworks.

What an interesting question.
Who would you like to talk to soon?
The problem is would they listen?
It’s all becomes pointless.
Talk is cheap. Everyone is talking but no one really listens. Each having their own set of problems and hurts, so why would they care about others?
Everyone is crying ‘What about me? That no one can be heard above the din as others become more selfish.

When you have gone around in circles for years, only to find no logical answer, to why so much negativity is aimed at you.
When you are such a positive person, who looks for the good in others, it’s a painful lesson when you realize that people are so blinded to their own negative attitudes, not realizing how hurtful they can be.
Yes, all humans are flawed, and you have to allow for human errors but when you have spent years allowing for that fact you question your behaviour.
What was it you did that upset others, or caused them to react so badly towards you?
This is a question, I constantly ask myself for days after the event. What could I have done better? How can I change my behaviour so it never happens again?
After fifty-five years of constantly blaming myself for other people’s negative attitudes towards me, it is time to speak up as say the problem isn’t with me but them.
I have always tried to be a thoughtful, kind person putting others’ feelings before my own and working hard to support others but now I realise the fault isn’t with me.
Are others too wrapped in their wants and needs to consider the feeling of others?
We are constantly told to talk to others about our feelings and what has upset us, but this is more difficult when the other party won’t take responsibility for their actions.

Actions always speak louder than words.
We all make mistakes, mishear things, or take things out of context but when the full facts are staring you in the face, be honest and say you are sorry for your actions and ask for forgiveness. Next time, remember to check yourself before saying harsh words or behaviour in a negative manner, if not, you may never have another chance to correct your mistakes.
Kindness isn’t selfish. Words hurt when spoken harshly.
Remember you don’t know what others have gone through in their past. They may be strong on the outside, stand tall, and put on a brave smile. Not everyone wants to be a victim of their circumstances or use them to gain favour from others. Many walk tall to escape their past.
So remember, talk is cheap if you are not listening.

Happiness.
What is the legacy you want to leave behind?
And positivity, but I doubt I will. Once you become ashes, others move on naturally. Occasionally, someone might remember something that happened and mention you, but that’s it.
Of course, you can write or create something which is left behind, or you appear in a photo but as the people who remember you passed away, you’ll soon be forgotten.
Only our DNA remains.

I’m just enjoying my life, spending every day being happy rather than worrying if anyone will remember me after I have gone.
The world is changing so quickly that none of us is important. Too many people are creating too much stuff, which becomes overloaded, which means you can’t save everything.
You need to have a healthy attitude toward life and put death on the back burner. Being positive about living and mixing with positive people helps to create a healthy attitude and less stress.

In today’s world, where fame and fortune is at the top of most people’s list of achievements, but for most this won’t happen.
For me, life is for living, so enjoy it.

To believe in myself
What’s one small improvement you can make in your life?
After my experience at the art show at the weekend plus selling two books I feel as though my dreams are coming true.
It’s about believing in my talent and enjoying the process of creating works of art and writing books and stories.
After years of self doubt and believing I not good enough, I should throw off the negativity and stand in the limelight and shine.
Enjoy every moment, for your life can change drastically in a split second.
Keep on smiling

I bought a new canvas in a hexagon shape which I hadn’t seen before but thought it might make an interesting surface to paint on.
I decided to paint a picture of a secret garden. I had fun painting this and then I posted on my NextDoor account. After many positive comments, I received a request to buy it.

cafelit: Saturday Sample: the Meetings

My short story, The Meetings has a back story of its own. I wrote it to submit to a Women’s Magazine and it was rejected. Then I submitted it to a competition, which then became an overall winner.
It taught me to never give up on a story and always to resubmit when the right opportunity comes along.
If you would like to read The Meetings check out this link.
