All For The Gospel

Live Intentionally

Fellow believers, we must be intentional about every aspect of our lives. We have been bought with the price of blood. Not just any blood, but the blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Or family, our work, our hobbies; they are all to be for the sake of the gospel. Our end game is reconciling people to God through Christ.

Paul said I have become all things to all people that I may win some. Every part of his life was used for others to grasp the gospel and embrace it.

What parts of your life can be used for the sake of the Gospel? All of them! Get creative and be intentional. Make your life about Christ and joy will never escape you!

Reconcile Not Condemn

Ministers Of Reconciliation

As Christians, our end game is to reconcile others to God. Paul calls us ministers of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).

This goal applies whether it is regarding someone who is or isn’t walking in the Lord. Our desire should be for ALL to reconcile with Him.

This goal never changes. Paul warns against pride and finger pointing. For all of us find ourselves caught in the clutches of sin at times.

Where would we be if another had not helped us reconcile with the Father through Christ? We need our brothers and sisters!

The next time you are tempted to point out the errors in others try this:

1) Examine tour own life instead

2) Pray for God to give you a right spirit that desires reconciliation.

2) Encourage your brother or sister to repent, return, and be reconciled.

Walk in a manner worthy of the gospel that saved and reconciled you. Never forget the grace you have been given. Be focused on Jesus as you help to restore those around you.

You Are My Rock

I Will Trust In You

Today is the funeral for my grandson who was born silent on this side, but rejoicing in Jesus’ arms.

It will be a day filled with tears, weak knees, and some laughter as we gather to celebrate his entrance into heaven.

Strength will be needed as I share a message from God’s word. My trust is in the Lord that He will deliver through me.

I will always trust in Him and He will be my trust. He has walked with me through the darkest of valleys, calmed my fears, and comforted my heart.

I know that today will be no different. He is my rock and hiding place. My feet are on solid ground.

Attitude Check

What’s Your Attitude?

How’s your attitude?

Sometimes we equate attitude with mood, but it’s more accurately described as a mindset.

Christ was laser focused on His mission and willing to obey His Father who had given it to Him, no matter the cost.

This should be the “normal” or “expected” mindset of all believers. Did you catch that? It is normal to give all for the sake of the gospel.

I am confident one of the reasons ministries today fail is because they lose sight of the mindset and mission.

The Christian life is to be passionate and filled with joy as we see the hand of God working in and through us.

This requires surrender. We will never see the depth and beauty of the Christian life until we are willing to completely turn over our lives to Christ for the sake of the gospel.

I urge you to consider the joy that God has for you today.

OBEDIENCE: Simple But Not Easy

Hard Daily

Obedience is simple but not always easy. I remember hearing a voice telling me that I needed to quit me job one day.

Sounds simple until you hear that I had 18 kids at home at the time and this was a well paying job at a Fortune 500 company.

To make it even more interesting, 9 of these kids were recently added to our family so we were still adjusting.

How will everyone get fed? How will we afford food, clothing, etc? Questions flooded my head like a tsunami.

The act of saying, “Yes I will.” was the simple part. Living in that daily decision over the next year and a half was the hard part.

Moses and Aaron said, “Yes, we will.” What they endured going forward was so tough!

They learned to trust the Lord in all things and millions of peoples’ lives have been changed forever as a result.

What ever God is asking you to do today, say “Yes, I will.”, and then be ready to cling to Him as you’re provider.

Watch Him work as He changes lives through you through your simple act of obedience and the daily decision to fight the good fight for Him.

Grief And Trust

Who Has Know His Mind Or Counseled Him?

As Christians, we take great comfort in knowing that God is in control. But what happens when we experience loss or grief that hits home so hard it leaves us breathless?

Where is God during those times? Do we get angry with him? Do we think He has for some reason abandoned us? Or, do we continue to trust that He is carefully working all things together for good?

During these times, we must remember that He is not bound by time. He sees beyond any limitation and is able to make decisions while truly knowing all the facts and their potential outcomes.

Who on earth possesses such great knowledge and wisdom? Certainly not I! For I don’t claim to know the limitless mind of my Father in heaven, nor have I been His counselor.

Instead of trying to make sense of overwhelming grief, I simply cling to the One who spoke the stars into place and He who commands the waves to be still.

I may never understand the grief but I can know more and more the depths of My Savior’s love.

What Good Is The Word?

The Power Of His Word

I spent the first 13 years of my life apart from God’s word, separated from its power, and void of its transformational power.

The first time I heard it read, I was blessed and captivated by how straight forward, confident, and powerful it was.

The truths that poured out from the pages left no room to fence-ride. It gave me no opportunity to justify my sins. It simply left me bare with a clear vision of my need.

This description of God’s word in Hebrews 4 is one of my favorite. I want to live my purpose and there are things within myself that hinder me in doing that.

I need His word to pierce, convict, and transform me so that I am more confirmed to the image of Christ each day.

Do you really want to know and live your purpose?

Then develop a daily practice of being in the Bible daily. Invite a friend to come along with you so you stay on track.

Whose Glory Are You Living For?

He Must Increase, I Must Decrease

Have you ever looked at other believers and gotten jealous because their life or ministry seems to be going better than yours?

This could have been a temptation for John the Baptist. Remember His purpose was to point people to Christ. People were flocking to Jesus.

Hohn could have chosen to have His own special purpose that He created. He could have looked for greatness within himself.

Instead, he surrendered to the mission God had for him; the same mission He has for all of us. We were designed to bring the gospel to all the nations.

To carry out his mission, John realized that Jesus must increase in visibility in his life and he, himself, must decrease.

You too could be tempted to want to live your own life and create your own purpose. Remember you were ransomed at the price of Christ’s blood.

Let us be so grateful for our redemption and confident of our mission, that we truly live for Christ. When people look at our lives, may they see more Jesus than us in all that we do.
