If You Choose It, It Will Happen . . . According to the Operating System of the Brain [The Third Rule]

[Photo by Prostock-studio via Envato Elements]
We create our lives by completely choosing what we want.
Choices are the source of all creation in the world. Nothing happens unless we make . They start with a wish and an intention in our minds, become transformed into action with our bodies, and create ripples that bring our wishes back to us in the material world.
The driver of our choices is our brains. The brain sets the intentions, directs our actions, evaluates the results, and responds as necessary. They perceive the opportunities that come to us and make the connections needed for our choices to come true. Because of this capability of our brains, I’ve realized that the third law out of five of our Brain Operating System—the “software” of our brain—is:
If you choose it, it will happen.
I firmly believe that whatever you choose will happen . . . eventually, and potentially with a lot of energy and effort. Most of our choices can’t occur only by wishing on a star, nor can praying alone bring them about (although it’s a start). They need for us to act on them.
You may be wondering how this rule could possibly be true in all cases. Many of us have faced failure, and so many negative events seem to happen every day. But, oftentimes, when we think we’re making a choice, we’re not really choosing.
So what is a real choice?
Having a clear goal. Without knowing exactly what we want, our mind and energy will be vague about it. It will also be difficult to plan and act for it.Saying, “I will do it,” rather than, “I would like to do it,” or, “I’ll give it a try.” Our brains need to be clear that we are completely certain of what we want and what we will do. Then they will start working on our choice in small and large ways, and our environment will start changing to support that choice. On the other hand, if our attitude is, “I’ll try,” though we may seem to be working hard, a part of our minds is trying to find excuses just in case things don’t work out.Taking action with 100 percent of our energy. The more energy we put toward something, the more likely it will manifest. If we hold back even a little bit, we may fall short of our goal.Acting without hesitation. If we hesitate after making a choice, we’ll probably feel miserable and insecure, and may not even start. Plus, our hesitation may lead to failure. Not giving up until our goal has been achieved. When we make a choice, we may not know how much energy it needs in order for it to come about. If we keep building up energy, we’ll eventually have enough to create our choice.Staying positive no matter what happens. Of course, it’s natural to feel bad about setbacks and challenges, but staying in that negativity will hold us back. If we switch to a positive perspective as soon as we can, we’re allowing what we want to come to us. We’re also giving ourselves the confidence and energy to try again. As the saying goes, “Whether we think we can or we think we can’t, we’re right.”Keeping focused on our goal. Otherwise, it won’t have a chance to happen. According to one important principle of energy, where our minds go, energy flows. The more we keep our minds on our goal, the more energy we give to it. Our focus also let’s us recognize when new avenues toward our goal open up and helps us make connections between the people, places, and things that will bring our goal together. With constant focus, we can take advantage of every moment and not detour from our destination for even a second.Breaking through obstacles. If we plunge headlong into solving the problems we encounter, then we’ll surely break through any roadblocks.
If you choose it, it will happen. It's what our brains do.

The choices we make today dictate our future. The power of those choices comes from the brain, not only its neural pathways, but the divine energy existing in the brain that’s connected to the creative power and wisdom of the universe. With that power, there isn’t anything we can’t do. As long as we don’t give up, reaching our goals is as natural as an apple falling from a tree from gravity.
I find a lot of hope in this natural ability—hope for myself, my people, and the future of the planet.

[Video] How Ilchi Lee Discovered Sedona, Arizona and Why You Should Too
Sedona, Arizona is a place that called to me as I traveled around the United States, looking for a place in which to grow my Brain Education method. I was amazed by the energy there, and it fostered my creativity and brought many blessings to my life.
In this video, I share my Sedona story.
Does Sedona call to you, too? I hope someday you can answer that call.
Note: This video was made by Krisanna Sexton and GetBright Films from footage taken for the film, LOVE HEALS, for which I was the executive producer.
Why Humanity Needs to Grow Up Now

[Photo by yurakrasil via Envato Elements]
How can we drag humanity away from the brink of destruction?
We’ve experienced so much change in the world. Even now, the change continues, and much of it hasn’t been for the better.
I’ve been feeling a constant sense of urgency about it. As I explore Sedona, Arizona once again, I feel the earth calling out to me for help. I keep thinking of ways to help the earth because we’ve come to a time that if people aren’t concerned for the earth, humankind is going to face collective destruction together with the earth.
Although there are small ways we can all adjust our lifestyle to be earth-friendly, in a bigger sense, I believe the answer lies in what I’ve been calling Earth Management.
Management at the Earth LevelMany people may have thought that human beings cannot manage the whole earth. People typically only look at pieces of the earth or fight over small bits. They may assume that the earth can take care of herself or that the earth’s care is left up to a higher power.
But now we’re in a time when we can zoom out and reduce the scale of the earth to see everything from a greater perspective. We can see the greater forces at play, and it’s become obvious how interconnected we all are. From this perspective, we can manage these forces so that they work for the good of all.
I liken our relationship with the earth to a child’s relationship with their parents. We can say that the earth is our mother and heaven is our father. When we’re babies, we rely on our mothers and fathers for all our needs; they’re not there for us to manage or operate. But when a child matures and their parents become older and weaker or sick, then the adult child has to look after their parents.
In the same way, humankind has been dependent on the earth for so long. So far, we could throw out all our trash and do everything, and we thought it wouldn’t permanently pollute the earth because the earth is able to self-clean and self-purify itself. We’ve thought the earth had this unlimited ability to recover from damage and abuse. But that is no longer the case, and now we’ve put the earth in a situation from which it might not be able to recover.
So now we need to protect the earth, and humankind in the process. But more proactively, I think we’ve become powerful enough as a species that we need to manage and take care of the earth.
What’s the Secret to Managing the Earth? The prerequisite for taking care of the earth is having an Earth Management consciousness. This comes from knowing that the earth and ourselves are one—that heaven, earth, and human are one.
That One is the seat of everything. It’s the zero point field and observer consciousness. It’s a place beyond life and death and time and space. That place lies at the center of everything. There, we find infinite creation, boundless love, and ultimate freedom. When we look at the world from that place, we realize that we have to take really good care of the earth.
At the zero point, we see a world we cannot see with our five senses. We hear a world we cannot hear with our five senses. Reality becomes unreal, and unreality becomes real. But the important thing is that when our minds and hearts come together as one, then we can take humankind off its course toward collective destruction.
This place of oneness is not somewhere we can get to by hearing about it. Nor do we get there by only working hard. We have it already. All we have to do is wake it up and experience it. How do we wake it up? We can only do it through our purest mind and heart.

A Culture of OnenessWe don’t need to be special to realize this, however. It should be normal for any adult to feel that oneness. The time as come when this kind of enlightenment should be common sense.
All of the people on earth have to have the desire and intention for peaceful coexistence with each other and the earth, or we won’t be able to solve the earth’s problems. We can’t just leave it to someone else—to governments, religions, or politics—to solve the problems of humankind for us. A lot of us have already realized that’s not going to happen.
So in this era we need a new normal. And in the center of that, there’s all the people who earnestly want peace and want to help the earth.
We don’t have much time. The earth doesn’t have much time. We need to have a huge shift in consciousness within the next three to five years, or humankind really is going to come to an end. Or, if we change, we can have a golden millennium where everyone thrives together.
Even if we live just one day, or just one hour, I hope we live as Earth Managers who realize oneness and care for the earth.

Ilchi Lee’s Breathing Method for Raising Your Consciousness

Abdominal Breathing ignites the fire of our vitality and the flame of our spirit.
We all breathe, and some of us know that if we breathe deliberately, attentively, and/or in alternative ways, it greatly benefits our mental and physical health. You could call breathing a form of meditation.
Besides calming our brain waves and activating our parasympathetic nervous system so that our bodies and brains go into rest and digest mode, breathing meditation improves our energy circulation. It enables Water Up, Fire Down energy circulation to take place.
In that physical, mental, emotional, and energetic state, we are primed for spiritual awakening. You could say that our consciousness becomes brighter—more positive, empowered, and creative. Our intuition becomes stronger, and we can more easily go into a zero point state of consciousness.
There are many breathing methods out there. In this post, I’d like to remind you of one that’s quite simple and natural: Abdominal Breathing. This is also known as Dahnjon Breathing, since it stimulates and builds up energy in the energy center in our lower abdomen. In Korean, the main energy centers of the body are called dahnjons.
The Ins and Outs of Dahnjon BreathingThere are three basic points to Dahnjon Breathing:Straighten your spine, especially your lower back, without crossing your legs. Do it comfortably without forcing it. Only then will your brain not be under pressure. Your brain should be in its most comfortable state. Breath will enter your body comfortably only when you’re well centered.Breathe very simply rather than unnaturally or painfully. Don’t force yourself to take long breaths or to hold your breath.Put a comfortable smile on your face.Heat Up the Body’s FurnaceFocus your mind solely on your lower dahnjon in your lower abdomen as you breathe continuously. By doing this, you’re fanning the flames in your dahnjon, calming your mind. The lower dahnjon is like a furnace, and when you continue to fan its flames, you make it red hot. When your furnace grows hot, your water naturally boils. This “water” is the water type of energy found in your kidneys.
Once it gets hot enough, you start to vibrate. You’ll find your body shaking. It might move vigorously, or the vibrations may be subtle. Vibration is the physical manifestation of strong energy moving through energy blockages in the body.
If you continue to fan your fire with your breathing, the vibration will eventually stop, and your dahnjon will keep getting hotter. The hot furnace of your dahnjon, as it promotes Water Up, Fire Down circulation, will help clear your head. You can go into a state without any desire, fear, loneliness, or boredom.
Once that fire has been cultivated, the energy point at the top of your head, at your seventh chakra, will open. This point is a gate for divine or spiritual energy to come into the body.
This will happen naturally; our bodies are designed this way. That’s why knowledge and thought are not enough for this gate to open. It’s like the laws of physics and chemistry, like how water boils only when it reaches 100 degrees Celsius. Believing it won’t make it happen, and neither will lobbying for it. It’s very honest and fair.
Keep Your Mind on Your BodyBreathing stops if it’s held too long or it’s hurried, and it doesn’t work well if it’s too relaxed. You’ll get drowsy if you breathe too slowly. You keep going so that the process of the breath coming in and going out does not stop. If your breathing momentarily stops, it means that distracting thoughts have entered your head. You’ll be able to concentrate only if you think precisely of breathing in.
Feel the flow of your breath as you breathe, as well as all the phenomena that’s happening in your body; always be conscious of your internal landscape. At the same time, don’t concern yourself with what you see in your mind’s eye—with auras or with darkness or brightness—or the phenomena that you feel in your body. Those are little experiences that happen before you encounter divine energy. Simply watch and focus solely on your dahnjon. And discard thoughts that would rush you. Don’t carry any expectation of what will happen during this experience.

Breathing Is for Encountering DivinityThen, like a dragon appearing out of deep waters, the true nature that is the master of life, divinity, will appear. When you have encountered it, the ecstasy is indescribable. That is the mystery of the human body. Once you know that, you won’t be so caught up in or led about by worldly things.
Your breath is respiration for encountering divinity. It is the truth by which you can approach the divine. Breathing is true. Breathing is life, and divine energy exists in all life, beyond the understanding of language and thought. That’s why you cannot encounter divinity through thought.
The light of divinity will undoubtedly appear when you’re ready. Your task is to continue devotedly fanning the flames in your dahnjon. “Devotion” is only breathing without distracting thoughts. It’s continually breathing regularly and smoothly to your own natural rhythm.
Dahnjon Breathing for Changing Our Lives and Creating a New Spiritual CivilizationWhat would happen if you did this kind of breathing meditation daily for 21 days? You would keep kindling the fire in your dahnjon, circulating your energy, and bringing in divine energy. We need these three conditions to use our brains to their full potential and to be positive, productive, and peaceful.
Therefore, we have to breathe. Breathing, meditation, and compassionate action—being Hongik—that is a spiritual life. These three things must move as one.
A spiritual civilization is needed right now, and the society of a spiritual civilization is a society that breathes. Breathing is something everyone can do. To make a spiritual civilization, we can go from a world that breathes without interest in it to a world that knows the meaning and value of breathing.
So I hope you are able to live your life within breathing and meditation. When everything is that way, you’ll see things anew. Rocks will seem new, trees will seem new, and even the stars in the heavens will seem new. Then you will feel the cells in your body awakening, and you will feel your consciousness awakening.

The Power of the Brain the World Needs Right Now

[Photo by Iakobchuk via Envato Elements]
What’s the difference between me and you? At the most basic level of existence, we’re all the same. So let’s coexist peacefully at every level.
Right now, you can feel your hand, look at it, and use it to touch the person next to you. But while she was having a stroke, neuroscientist Jill Bolte Taylor could not tell where her hands ended and their surroundings began, she wrote in her book My Stroke of Insight: A Brain Scientist’s Personal Journey.
Our brains have the capacity to define the limits of our bodies, as well as the limits of our psyches. They use this definition to act in the world and keep us alive.
Our brains also have the capacity to sense beyond the limits of those definitions, as Dr. Taylor and many practiced meditators have experienced. In certain states of consciousness, they are able to perceive the water that we’re all swimming in: the field of potential energy. This field, which has been illuminated by both mystics and scientists in disciplines such as quantum physics, fills the vast space between particles of matter.
Scientists and meditators have also realized that everything we can see and touch come from this field. All things go from potentially existing to being in a particular place and time. The catalyst for this manifestation is consciousness.
Just as seemingly individual things appear from undefined potential, individual consciousness comes from the universal consciousness that’s an aspect of the field. But this individual consciousness—your consciousness and my consciousness—never fully separates.
This is another capacity of our brains. Just as our brains can see beyond the boundaries of our hands, they can perceive—or as people often say, “connect to”—the vast consciousness of the field. All information that ever existed or will ever exist—every event, person, discovery, thought—can be found as part of universal consciousness.
But why does knowing this matter? What can we learn from it, and what can we do with this knowledge?
Enjoy Ilchi Lee’s blog posts?Keep up-to-date with weekly wisdom delivered directly to your email inbox.
The Power of the MindThe unity between energy, matter, and consciousness—what I call LifeParticles—gives our individual consciousness the ability to affect the energy and matter in ourselves and in the world. If our concentration becomes strong enough and involves all parts of our conscious and subconscious minds, then we even have the ability to really change our bodies and bring what we want into our lives (within the laws of nature).
Meditation helps us harness this ability. Various forms of meditation clear cluttered thoughts, slow down our brain waves until we can access our subconscious minds, and integrate the different parts of our brains so that they can work toward the same intentions (instead of at cross purposes). Meditation trains our brains to access the power of the field and the wisdom of universal consciousness.
Many of us don’t use the full capacity of our brains this way. The field of energy that connects us remains a vague notion that we can ignore as we go about our lives. Tapping into this field with intention, however, not only brings our lives into alignment with our greatest wishes, it endows us with a deep sense of value and purpose. Our ability to live with intention gives meaning to our lives. It lets us be of better service to others as well.
Ripple EffectsAs the famous quote goes, “With great power comes great responsibility.” The field of potential energy at our fingertips connects us all. At the level of the energy and space between the most elementary particles, there is no difference between us, and we can see that we all affect one another. Knowing this lets us realize just how important our thoughts and actions are. What we do and say can ripple out from us infinitely.
Not only for our own sakes, but for the entire web of life we’re a part of, we can keep our consciousness “bright.” The brighter our consciousness becomes, the more positive, creative, peaceful, and loving it is, and the more connected to universal consciousness it is.
With our interconnectedness at the forefront of our minds, we can find better ways to coexist peacefully with one another and uplift each other. I believe if enough people’s consciousness “gets bright”—at least 100 million—then we can begin to solve the existential problems that plague our world.
Oneness MeditationTry this visualization to feel the interconnectedness of life from my book, Calligraphic Meditation for Everyday Happiness. You can enhance your ability to go into the visualization by doing Brain Wave Vibration, a moving meditation, first.
Raise your right hand and look at your fingers. At first you’ll see only your hand. Gradually move your eyes to your arm, shoulder, trunk, and entire body. Feel your body, which connects your limbs as one. Now expand your field of vision to feel the empty space surrounding your body. Taking it further, try to feel the people, buildings, and nature around you in the same space. The stars in the sky seem to be separated from each other, but they’re connected as one through the field.
We may often feel separate and sometimes afraid of each other. By taking some time each day to meditate and feel the oneness inherent in all life, we can carry that feeling into our interactions with people. We can reflect the energy and mindset of oneness, which others will respond to, and create ripples of brightness throughout our world.

Good News Makes a Good Brain: The Second Rule of the Brain Operating System

[Photo by DaniDG_ via Envato Elements]
Information affects the state of our thoughts and emotions, which influences every part of our lives.
It’s hard to find good news in the media lately. When you hear good news in the morning, do you feel good or bad? When you hear very bad news, do you feel good or bad? It’s obvious to see that good news makes us feel good. And what are feelings? They’re the state of our brains.
Information changes the brain. The messages we hear or that we tell ourselves changes the brain waves and all cells in the body. When good information enters our heads, hormone levels and brain waves change, which causes emotions to change, and finally, the body changes and various previously paralyzed areas of the mind are resuscitated.
Positive information makes positive changes. It lets our brains function optimally. Our brains can be the most productive, peaceful, connected, and creative when they are running on positive information. They become “good brains.”
This is the second law of what I call the Brain Operating System (BOS). The Brain Operating System is a way of comparing your brain to a computer. Brain cells are the hardware, and thoughts, ideas, and functions are the software. The laws of the BOS are how we consciously run the brain’s software, which lets us manage our whole brain and all of its functions.
What Is Good NewsSo I always suggest a steady diet of positive information. Such good news doesn’t need to be big. Even if we notice small things, if we point them out to our brains frequently, they will transform our brains into good brains. Just like our bodies stay healthy if we feed ourselves a healthy diet of food, our brains stay healthy (and consequently the rest of us), if we feed them a healthy diet of positive information. It’s part of having healthy habits. It only really works if it becomes a part of our lives.
Giving ourselves good news can sometimes mean making the best of a less than positive situation and changing our perspective. We can transform what looks like bad news into good news when we look closely or flip how we see things around. And the most potent positive news are the ones we choose to give ourselves, rather than the ones the world displays to us.
After giving ourselves good news, it’s also important to give good news to others. We can share positive information with them and give them praise. Sharing good news will help others have a good brain, which will make more good news. This positive reinforcement cycle will grow and grow until all the good brains making good news will add up to a good world.
Bad news doesn’t only include negative information about ourselves or about the world. It also includes the desires of our egos. While our egos serve an important function, it’s our true selves that are most important. When we pay more attention to our true selves and their existential and infinite value, our brains take in that information. This is the healthiest information we can ingest. As that information works in our brains, our lives turn into ones lived for our true selves instead of our small egos.
Develop Positive Information into a Belief SystemPositive information doesn’t change much once it has been organized, systemized, and developed into a belief system. Such information ends up creating positive brain waves and enables us to do everything with confidence in a proactive way. Then negative information has little effect.
To ensure that healthy brain waves can always be maintained, we systematize our positive information so that it creates our entire worldview. The positive wavelengths generated by belief suppress negative wavelengths.
In contrast with this, those who lack systemized positive information, or in whom negative information has been systemized, are extremely slow in starting some work or always fail to be active about it. Such people, because of information, become enslaved by negative information.
The way to maintain a positive brain-wave state is to choose a vision and install a system of mechanisms by which we can always return to the brain waves we want. Regularly practicing breathing and meditation techniques helps us return our brain waves to a positive state anytime.

Good News Makes Good Lives and a Good WorldGood habits change destiny. The more positive information we have in our brains, the more our outer lives will reflect this inner reality.
Having a positive worldview or being able to find the positive in any situation lets us see new possibilities in our lives. It helps us meet the situations and people we need to succeed and take actions toward our goals.
The present version of ourselves formed based on information from the past. Because we can choose the information we use in our lives, we have authority over the version of ourselves we’ll see in the future. All those ideas of, “I have pain here, this part of me is problematic, I can do this thing but not that thing,” are not permanent. Even if we see those ideas, we can choose to focus on positive ideas instead.
The brain keeps creating good news when it has become a good brain. When many people consciously and actively choose a positive brain state and share it with others, we could not help but create a more positive world.

[Video] Three Secrets to Happiness
I always tell people that real happiness is something we need to make for ourselves. The happiness we find outside ourselves can be fleeting and shallow. However, in order to make happiness, we need to know what happiness is first.
In this lecture I gave many years ago in South Korea, I described three fundamental things I think you need to know about happiness. I hope it helps you orient yourself toward your own happiness.
One Important Energy Principle for Natural Health That Everyone Should Know

[Photo by valeriygoncharukphoto via Envato Elements]
Maintaining the balance of temperature and life energy in the body is vital to our health, but we don’t need to know a lot to take care of it. Start with this one principle of energy that affects all others.
In my last blog post, we saw that natural health depends on and is affected by energy. This is the energy of life in everything, which, especially in the body, is sometimes called qi, chi, or prana. The peoples of most eastern and southern Asian countries have studied this energy and its effect on the body and mind for thousands of years. The traditional philosophies and practices that stemmed from these studies are vast and detailed.
This week, I’d like to tell you, or remind you, about one of the fundamental, yet simple, principles of how energy moves in the body. If you know this one principle, which stems from the traditions of my native Korea, you can evaluate the status of your own energy and take simple steps to correct it if it becomes imbalanced.
The One Principle to Rule Them AllThis principle is called Water Up, Fire Down, or Suseung Hwagang in Korean. It describes a circular flow of energy from the top of the head, down the front of the body, and then up the back to the head again. When this flow of energy moves unimpeded in the right direction, a balance of warm “fire” (yang) and cool “water” (yin) types of energy is maintained. Fire energy flows down, keeping the belly warm. Water energy flows up, keeping the head cool.
The most fundamental cause of energy circulation in nature is temperature difference. When your body is normal, a great deal of blood flows around your abdomen, facilitating the activities of your internal organs, warming your belly, and making its temperature somewhat higher than that of your head. As a result, circulation happens automatically. Energy rising from your warm belly pushes water energy in your kidneys upward, cooling your head; energy coming down from your head receives the fire energy of the heart, and sinks and heats your lower abdomen, creating a balanced cycle.

[Illustration from Water Up Fire Down by Ilchi Lee]
The Energy Engines Turning the WheelThree energy centers help propel this cycle. Called dahnjons in Korean, they’re found in the lower abdomen (lower dahnjon), the center of the chest (middle dahnjon), and the middle of the head (upper dahnjon). The concept is similar to the chakras spoken of in the yogic traditions of India.
The lower dahnjon serves as a center of gravity in our body’s energy system. Just as a pyramid could easily collapse if its base isn’t firm, the middle and upper dahnjon centers could be unhealthy if the lower dahnjon is weak. When the lower dahnjon is activated, creating a hot furnace of energy in the belly, this energy pushes the water energy in the kidneys upward to the brain.
Activated by clear water energy, the upper dahnjon refreshes the entire brain, pushing any fire energy built up by excessive mental activity back down. It stimulates the fire energy generated in the heart, the middle dahnjon, down as well, completing the cycle in the lower dahnjon. All three dahnjons need to be clear of blockages and have enough energy in them in order for the Water Up, Fire Down energy cycle to be maintained.
The entirety of our being is influenced by the process of water-fire energy circulation in our bodies.
Click To Tweet
In essence, the entirety of our being is influenced by this process of water-fire energy circulation: the lower dahnjon regulates primal life force and physical health; the middle dahnjon regulates emotions, causing them to mature; and the upper dahnjon handles all mental activities, including insight and wisdom for life. So when these three energy centers are activated, we develop a warm belly, open heart, and cool head. If not, we end up with a cold belly, closed heart, and hot head. Thus, consistent development of these three energy centers makes body, mind, and spirit healthier—and that inevitably results in a higher quality of life as well.
Exercises for Maintaining Water Up, Fire DownFor someone without direct experience of energy, this description of the energy system in our bodies may feel abstract and complicated, making it difficult to grasp. When we sense energy in the body, though, it becomes as tangible as feeling our bellies rising and falling with each breath. Developing this sense is just like developing any other ability. If we understand the principles of energy and consistently cultivate our sense of it, we’ll be able to feel and strengthen energy centers we were never aware of before.
I believe that everyone should learn how to sense and apply energy for the health of body and mind, just as they might learn how to handle a ball, swim, or do calisthenics in a school gym class. But even if one can’t detect the subtle feeling of energy, the principle of Water Up, Fire Down circulation will help improve one’s health and quality of life. The heart of water-fire energy circulation is keeping the head cool and belly warm. So, by checking these we can determine whether we have good or reversed Water Up, Fire Down.
If we detect that our Water Up, Fire Down has become out of balance, we can recover that balance by breaking through blockages, supplementing energy where it’s lacking, and reducing it where there’s too much.
See Ilchi Lee’s 7 Energy Exercises for Water Up, Fire Down for Health and Happiness Everyday ►All the methods of training for Water Up, Fire Down energy circulation are about taking the time to connect with nature inside us, with the life within, with our true nature. We can recover that connection even by quietly sensing the breath entering and leaving the body, by moving our bodies vigorously, feeling the rhythms of our heartbeats and the pleasant stiffness of our muscles—by focusing on our vital phenomena in this way.
Although the knowledge contained in ancient health traditions is vast, every one of us can use what we were born with to support our own health simply and naturally.

Through light and sound, we can recover our inner sense of balance and promote health naturally.
You may have noticed that our bodies and minds have their own natural healing power—an ability to maintain balance and harmony. Many of our physical ailments heal themselves if we but recover our natural inner balance. Having a sense of this innate ability and using it in our lives lets us manage our health ourselves. Without learning something particularly special, we are able to use this sense to realize what we need and provide ourselves with it.
However, many people have not been taught how to tune into this sense and may even be hesitant or self-conscious about trusting it. They may wonder things like, “What if it doesn’t work, can I really do it, what will other people think?” So instead of relying on the natural part of themselves inside, they tend to rely solely on societal systems or institutions rather than using these systems as support for their inner sense of balance. But anything artificial blocks this sense.
Since the term “solar” describes a symbol of nature that’s vital to our well-being, I like to think of someone who has a well developed sense of inner balance and natural healing power as a “Solar Body.” Like the sun generates its own energy and life-giving warmth, Solar Bodies can create health and happiness for themselves without being dependent on anything artificial or the external environment.
Recover Our Natural Selves by Changing Our EnergyTo regain our sense of inner balance and become a Solar Body, we need to resonate with nature. The world is made of energy, and energy is consists of light, sound, and all vibration. Nature has its own rhythm and energy, and this rhythm beats in our brain stems—the part of our brains that regulates our automatic and subconscious processes. Within the natural rhythm of our brain stems lies our natural healing power. Body and mind both become sick when the rhythm of life in the brain stem weakens.
If that rhythm is to revive, our consciousness—our inner awareness—must be able to enter the brain stem, uniting our conscious and subconscious minds. But we can’t do that unless our thoughts and emotions have stilled. When we become lost in our thoughts and emotions, we cannot sense the rhythm of life in our brain stem because they cover or dominate it. On the other hand, we can amplify and consciously use our natural healing power if we use energy—light, sound, and vibration—to clear our minds and allow the rhythm of nature to dominate our brains instead.
Try This Sun and Sound Meditation for a Solar BodyToday I will share a method of changing our energy to resonate with that of nature through sunlight and sound.
Take some time to walk in the sunshine and take in the natural energy of the sun with your whole body, feeling it give you warmth. As you feel the warmth inside, let it help you be in this moment, now, and slowly set aside all worries, anxieties, everything. Finding yourself in the moment more and more, accept the solar energy more fully. Feel it spread throughout your body.
There’s a signal we feel when our body is charged with plenty of solar energy. We get a tingling sensation all the way to the tips of the fingers and toes. This happens when our body temperature rises and our blood vessels dilate, promoting energy and blood circulation to the ends of our extremities. Filled with energy from the sun, the tangle of negative thoughts gradually disappears and is replaced by comfort, peace, and revitalization.
In this calm state, make the sound, “Ah,” from your belly. After making it for one minute, continue while imagining the wave of energy from the sound driving away any stifling tension in your chest. Then see it going to any place in your body where you may be having problems.
Imagine that the waves of sound are resonating with the cells in your body, causing them to vibrate and healing them. You may be able to feel changes happening in places where you hurt.
Now make the sound, “Ahng,” and let the energy of this sound vibrate throughout your body. Continue this for three minutes. You can even move your body instinctively to the sound. Your emotions and thoughts may be purified, and your body’s natural healing energy may grow stronger.

The Earth’s Vibrations Are Our Vibrations, and Our Vibrations Are the Earth’s VibrationsThe natural reverberations of body and mind are the resonance of the earth, and the reverberations of the earth are our resonance. Amplify your natural healing power with these reverberations. Find the resonance of nature inside you. The world is also being healed and becoming harmonious through these reverberations as you amplify them.
Because they are natural, you don’t need to learn anything; just do it. It’s like the sound of wind and waves. It’s something we all have.
And when we recover our natural healing power, our communication with ourselves deepens. We develop self-confidence, and we grow our ability to observe clearly, choose wisely, and act on those choices. As a result, we become able to create positive change in every aspect of our lives, from interpersonal relationships to self-development.
Furthermore, by showing and sharing what we’ve experienced to the people around us, we develop a desire to help others have healthier and happier lives. The people who choose and act on this desire help those around them recover their natural healing power. Solar Bodies who do this, like the sun, shine with their own light and illuminate their surroundings.
