I loved this book.

I hated this book.

There is a trigger warning website -- doesthedogdie.com. Netflix will give you a trigger warning about *gasp* smoking, and say nothing about the animal being torn to shreds with no warning.

“Unloved dogs, once they are loved, slide into your soul and light up things you didn't know were there.”
Dawn Lawson

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one.”
George R.R. Martin, A Dance with Dragons

“My crime is being Indian. What's yours?”
Leonard Peltier, Prison Writings

“I don’t know how to save the world. I don’t have the answers or The Answer. I hold no secret knowledge as to how to fix the mistakes of generations past and present. I only know that without compassion and respect for all of Earth’s inhabitants, none of us will survive—nor will we deserve to.”
Leonard Peltier, Prison Writings

“Innocence has a single voice that can only say over and over again, "I didn't do it." Guilt has a thousand voices, all of them lies.”

Nenia Campbell Aww thank you so much for adding me! The username is a nod to Peter's Evil Overlord list, a hilarious collection of villain tropes. :)

I look forward to chatting with you about cool things! 🤗

Elena Elena, it is an honor to know you. I just noticed you added 56 books to you TBR. Have you managed to clone yourself?

Hahaha, what a truly terrifying thought! I wouldn't get along with another me at all ;)

And the honor is all mine Dawn, truly.

About my recent compulsive tbr-adding, I blame it on these "Best of the Decade" bookish lists by Literary Hub (here's the link, if you're interested: https://lithub.com/story-type/the-bes...). And on all the awesome recs members of WBtM keep on tossing our way, of course!
