The Best Christmas Music Ever…That's Right, Ever!

Now, after our brief intermission, we return to the best Christmas music ever… Hallelujah—Handel's "Messiah" Of course, you can't go wrong with any song from Handel's Oratorio which is all about the birth of Jesus Christ.  But "Hallelujah" with its slow build towards the triumphant conclusion kind of makes my spirit soar. All-Time Best Christmas Music Ever…That's Right, Ever!

Christmas Time is Here—"A Charlie Brown Christmas Really, it's the whole show that does it.  Just like every Charlie Brown special—well, not every one, but Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas for sure–"A Charlie Brown Christmas" is the quintessential holiday show and  the opening song is quintessential holiday music.  It is nostalgia, family, and a good message all rolled up [...]

My NaNoWriMo Achievement

I did not write a novel during NaNoWriNo.  I never do.  I always say that I am going to try it, but then I never do.  I think it's something about the fact that everyone else is trying to write a novel then; my soul is that much of a contrarian.  I wish I had [...]

Fantasy, African American Experience , and Other Things

So this last week has been something of a publicity blitz for me.  I was interviewed by Alicia McCalla for her blog here.  Then I was on The WREK, an Atlanta based radio station, with Milton Davis and Sharon Robinson. (You can listen to that conversation here.)  Both of these opportunities arose from my participation [...]
