Journal Snippets (farewell november)

November 2nd
Another month, another season...
it sticks in my head what the pastor at church said about the Christian walk not being about "the experience" or what we are feeling.
I so often rely on my feelings to dictate me and my chains.

November 8th
I am the broken follower who Jesus loves.
I am loved.

November 10th
I thought [today] about my old self struggling to gain love and acceptance, who each day feared not being enough, of losing friends if she's not helpful enough or kind enough.
That is...

the wall of thankfulness

I started a wall of thankfulness. It's aqua sticky notes covering my cream colored wall above my bed, handwritten and terribly far from perfect.
One day I was thankful for my health. Another day that I'm healing mentally. Another chocolate kisses. Another stars. Another getting to work on time.
It's the little things.
Sometimes the big things.
And it's made a difference.
I begin to see the fingerprints of a greater work, of the beauty in the little, of the hugs from S...

dear over-achiever who feels she's never enough |a letter|

I watched you the other day make a mistake. You thought no one was listening, but I was. You muttered, "stupid," under your breath, and I saw the tears in your eyes. You thought no one was watching, but I was.
You desire to be the best version of you possible.
The best worker, sister, friend, daughter, writer...
You reach and reach, but you are never enough.
There's always someone else one step ahead, someone a little better, prettier, thinner, faster.
But to be the i...

i went to church and didn't hate it

Hola readers!

I went to church last Sunday and didn't hate it.

I probably should back up and explain what that means for me.

My dad is a pastor. I don't talk about that too much because for me it was just a part of life -- it wasn't something I wanted to hide, but we had a pastor in the family and that was completely every day for me.
I don't remember a time I wasn't involved in church. Being there nearly every Sunday is ingrained in living. We moved to our curren.../>I

September/October Journal Snippets

Look at this beauty from a car show the other week. It was fixed up like a camper inside...to say I'm in love is an understatement + it's in my favorite color. I may or may not have snapped a dozen photos and exclaimed like a dork as I walked around the bus.

September 12th//
Lately I've realized how obsessed with being there for others I can be, or how instantly I assume the role and fill in when needed without even considering...I don't have to be. I'm exhausted from trying to be everything for everyone.

I'm Published (For a Second Time!!!)

Hola readers!

Special announcement to make that I am stoked to share with you, readers.

I am a published author (again)!!!!!

As most of you know, I write for Oh Beloved One magazine and their editor, Amanda Brown, has dished out some writing opportunities for her writers that go beyond articles for her magazine. I jumped at the chance to be able to write a digital e-study guide for OBO's readers.
YA fiction will always be my first love. I adore creating fictional characters and worlds, and again,...
