Your phone doesn’t make you do anything.

Your phone doesn't make you do anything.

Don’t blame your lack of discipline or self-control on technology. If you’re a servant to your phone or social media it’s because you choose to be. How you act and the choices you make are your responsibility.

Your phone doesn’t make you do anything. You do.

True leaders

True leaders
True leaders don’t waste time trying to convince others of their importance because they know that their leadership skills are demonstrated by how they act and how they make others feel, not by how highly they speak of themselves.

True leaders are fare more likely to make others feel important than they are to spend time trying to convince people of their importance.

What kind of person do you want to be?

What kind of person do you want to be?

Who we are today is a result of all the decisions we’ve ever made in life. Whatever we wish to be in the future depends on our present actions. To become who you wish to be, simply determine how that person would act and then, little by little, act like that person.

Actions are harder to fake than words

Actions are harder to fake than words

An honest enemy is better than a false friend. When in doubt, pay more attention to what people do and less to what they say. Actions not only speak louder than words, they are more difficult to fake.

“Lieber ein ehrlicher Feind, als ein falscher Freund”

“Better an honest enemy than a false friend” — German Proverb

How do you know what you know?

How do you know what you know?

It is not until we take the time to question who we are, what we know, and how we know what we know that we begin to truly find ourselves. And it isn’t until we’ve deliberately distinguished ourselves from our influences that our genuine self is revealed.

Lessons Learned…

Looks like I may have slightly misjudged the pocket edition size for my book. Whoops.

Making a difference requires mindfulness

Do you care about your friends? Your neighbors? Your community? Local businesses? Your city? If the answer is yes, what are you doing that demonstrates these things in a significant and meaningful way? It’s one thing to think & say that you care. It’s another thing entirely to actively demonstrate it through your actions & ... Read more See images on site...

A heartfelt thank you for the thank you

I received my first heartfelt “thank you” for my book this afternoon from a man who said the ending almost made him cry. Which sounds about right, because the ending almost made me cry when I wrote it. It’s nice when emotions can transcend words like that. And I have to admit his “thanks” just ... Plan your path

You can’t always go where you want to go when you want to go there, but you can begin planning the path you’ll take when the time is right. Excerpt from: “Between a rock and a hard place” in my book. See images on site...

Running the risk of unsettling people

Making a difference means running the risk of unsettling anyone who would rather have things be as they are than as they could be. If you’re not disliked or disagreed with by at least a few people at any given time, then you aren’t likely to be doing anything of any consequence. See images on site...
