People can be assholes
Fact 1: People can be assholes.
Fact 2: You don’t have to let fact 1 deter you from going after what you want in life, make you feel inferior, or let it impact your life any more than you choose.
Assholes are unpleasant, but giving them power over your life is worse.

Remember this day
Remember this day as a fresh start. A new beginning. A clean slate. An optimistic look forward. Remember this day as a day of hope. A day of unlimited possibilities. A day of immeasurable potential. Remember this day as an occasion to learn. A day to improve. A day to get things right.
Remember this day as an opportunity to make a positive difference in someone’s life. A day to have a lasting positive impact on those you come in contact with. A day to lead by example.
Remember this day...
As one year ends and another begins…
As one year ends and another begins, let us move forward with an open mind, an open heart, and enduring hope for the wondrous possibilities that lie before us.
But let us do so wisely and without blinders on.
Because although the year ahead may be great, it will not be without its challenges. We will be tested in ways we cannot foresee. But with every challenge comes an opportunity for us to demonstrate our strength, patience, tolerance, and resolve.
Every surprise that the coming year has i...

A little more
We could all use a little more compassion, a little more empathy, a little more kindness, and little more love. Let’s make 2019 a year where we all put in a little more effort to give a little more of all the things we could all use a little more of.

A dark time for some
For some people, this is one of the most difficult times of year. Some smile & pretend everything is ok when it’s really not. I’ve been there.
People who are in the darkest places may tell you that they’re good when you ask because that’s the socially appropriate answer to “how are you?”, not, “I’m really struggling.”
Amongst the fake smiles & insincere cheer, if you truly care about people, take the extra moment to express it to t...

Talk is cheap
How do you show people that you mean what you say? That you can be trusted? That you have a good heart and character? The key is in the word “show”. You show who you truly are by what you consistently do. And when your actions are congruent with your words.
Talk is cheap. Don’t just say you care about something. Don’t just say you believe in a cause or a way of life. Take action and show it. And remember to show what you believe in when it matters, not just when it...
