Who it starts with
Kindness. Love. Respect. Compassion. Tolerance.
While you’re waiting for other people to put in the effort to show what you wish there was more of in the world, other people are doing the same — waiting.
It doesn’t start with them — it starts with you.

Hate & violence vs compassion & kindness
What do you want your life history to reflect – hate & violence or compassion & kindness?
The leaders you support are a reflection & extension of you.
Your history isn’t just written when you take action, it’s also influenced by those you support to take action on your behalf.

True leadership
As individuals, we demonstrate who we are by how we act. As nations, we demonstrate who we are by how we lead.
True leadership is demonstrated every time someone else decides to emulate our actions because they see it leads somewhere they want to go.

An important thing to remember
Somewhere along the way, people forgot that we are the human race & we owe it to ourselves to fight for a future that is better & brighter for all of us — not just one tribe or another.
If we don’t have our backs, there’s no other species that will. We are all we have.

The shocking truth about people with different views
Shockingly, research indicates that it’s not just possible to express one’s views without being an asshole, it’s actually possible for people with different views to have an amiable relationship.
Sounds crazy, but it’s worth considering.

Be solution-oriented, not problem focused
If the world is getting you down, remind yourself to focus on what is within your power to control & be solution-oriented, not problem-focused (& if you can help others, do so).
Feeling overwhelmed is a sign that you’re focusing on things that are beyond your power to control.

Where is the love?
Where is the love expressed in how you interact with those you care about?
Where is the love reflected in what you put out into the world?
Where is the love reflected in how you live your life?
If you want more love in the world, put some there.

Brave enough to be bad
Reminder:
Being brave enough to be bad at things you want to do is how you get better at those things.
Mistakes provide feedback. And feedback will propel you forward if you’re brave enough to listen & bold enough to keep going.
Stop waiting & get started.

Find what you love
If someone creates content — whether it’s music, videos, art, comics, or words — and you don’t like it, don’t understand it, or don’t find any value in it, maybe it wasn’t meant for you.
There are over 7.5 billion people on the planet — all with different preferences, opinions & levels of understanding — not everything anyone creates is intended for every single person on the planet.
It is perfectly possible to go in search of what you love in life without disparaging, mocking, or criticizing...

Problem-finding as a sport
Some treat problem-finding like it’s a sport to win. But finding & highlighting problems is easy. Complaining is easy. Mocking & belittling people and/or their efforts is easy.
What isn’t as easy? Being solution-oriented instead of problem-focused & leading by example — & with love.
