FIRESPELL UK release and TB Pre-Orders

Yesterday was the official hardback release of FIRESPELL in the UK! Unfortunately, it hadn't yet popped up at the Waterstones in Picadilly, but if you're in the UK, I'd love to see a picture of FIRESPELL on shelves!!

And, of course, we've got the release of TWICE BITTEN in just over a month, and it's already hitting the Amazon Bestseller charts.

Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #1,896 in Books (See Top 100 in Books)
#23 in Books > Romance > Vampires

Thanks, pre-orderers!! :)

Some Girls . . . Haunt?

This is the newly released German cover for SOME GIRLS BITE (Frisch Gebissen, February 2011, Lyx). Very dark and pretty and haunting.

I've also updated the International Release page if you want to see all the international covers in context.

5Ks and 13.1 miles

So, I'm planning on walking a half-marathon (13.1 miles) using this handy training chart. My goal is less the actual half-marathon (in Omaha, Des Moines or Midsouth) than completion of the training course. (And I hate running, so walking it is!) I've joined DailyMile, so if anyone else is interested in doing the training, as well, feel free to check in via e-mail.
[And yes--I'm posting about this here in part just for the accountability of it.:]
In other news, I've decided to participate in...

Travel Reading?

When I have a little time to read, I love to read travelogues. I'm about to finish the most recent (curmudgeonly, caustic) Paul Theroux installment, Ghost Train to the Eastern Star,* --which is unfortunately the last (non-fiction) Theroux on my list. So, it was time to find some new travel writers.

I perused the web looking for good travel books, and came across a few lists (which I have now printed and will probably, in truegeek style, highlight and check-off), which I thought I'd share.

Hi, everyone. As promised, I'm going to pick a winner in the ARC contest on Friday, May 15 before 8:00 a.m. CST.
Thus, if you still want to enter--and so that I have time to update the massive Excel spreadsheet tracking the entries--please get your entries in by Friday, May 15, at 6:00 a.m. CST (or, even better, tonight).
Also, you've got until midnight to place any final bids for Do The Write Thing For Nashville auction . . . although the three musketeers currently bidding may have you...

Foodie Thursday?

Is it wrong that I want to print out Ming's entire web site in color and slap it in a binder, to be my new cupcake cookbook? Oh, Ming. How lovely thou art. Now, go forth and make cupcakes!
