Believe in Something, Sacrificing Everything
Greetings, everyone!
Not too long ago, Nike came out with a slogan and presented one Colin Kaepernick as a spokesperson for this theme: “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.” I think we can all agree that the epitome of that commercial advertisement by Nike will be on TV today. For the 119th time, since November 29, 1890, young men have taken the field of competition to play what is now called “America’s Game,” the Army-Navy football game.
For some three hours, young...

The Second Amendment and Judicial Activists
Greetings, folks! Well, I am on my way out to Las Vegas for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. I will be visiting folks, and signing my new book, Hold Texas, Hold the Nation: Victory or Death.” If you are out in Vegas for the WNFR, I hope to see ya. This will be my first time being at the WNFR, but I have attended a few rodeo events here in Texas. Gotta tell ya, that bull riding thing is for the really courageous. I would rather take on a platoon of the Taliban with a pistol and two magazine...

George HW Bush as Commander-in-Chief
On Wednesday, I got an email from a Fox News producer who asked me if I had a personal relationship with former President George H. W. Bush. My response was simple, yes, I did. It was not a personal relationship that civilians would understand, but it was one that is forever binding. I responded that we had a personal relationship because we both had served this nation in combat. As well, President Bush had been my Commander-in-Chief when I was a young captain in the First Infantry Division,...

Disagreement Equals Hate to the Left
One of the great things about America — at least I thought so — was that we could have disagreements yet be respected for such. I often state that when tolerance becomes a one-way street, it leads to cultural suicide.
I just continue to be amazed at how the progressive socialist left deinigrates, demeans, and disparages anyone who does not acquiesce to their ideological agenda. Case in point, I believe that marriage is a sacred bond between one man and one woman. I support civil unions for no...
The Definition of ‘Illegal’
This will be short and to the point, folks. The word illegal is defined as “contrary to or forbidden by law, especially criminal law…not according to or authorized by law; illicit also: not sanctioned by official rules (as of a game).”
So, what is it about “illegal” immigration that the progressive socialist left does not understand? I mean, they have attempted to redefine this by changing the language, such as “undocumented worker.” So, if you are here in American illegally and not working,...

‘. . . Shall Not Be Infringed’
As y’all know, I am a sitting Board Member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). I am also a Senior Fellow with the Media Research Center (MRC), the nation’s preeminent media bias watchdog.
Now, for those of you who know the Constitution, the title of this missive should be easily known and understood. It is taken from our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Now, it is not too often that there is an intersection between my position with the NRA and the MRC, but I have found one.
...A Victory for Free Speech on Leftist Campuses
If there is one thing we do not have to debate, it is the existence of bias when it comes to free speech for constitutional conservatives on college and university campuses.
I would welcome anyone who wants to argue that point with me since I have firsthand experience. I have written about limited free speech on college campuses including the insidious “free speech zones” on a campus here in North Texas.
I remember when the world’s largest Christian university, Liberty University, had one far...

Big Red One
It is officially Army-Navy game week, “America’s Game.”
Sunday evening, the United States Military Academy at West Point unveiled their tribute uniforms for this year’s game. I am so deeply proud and honored to share them with you, as well as the commemorative video.
This year, the Black Knights of the Hudson will pay tribute and honor America’s oldest combat division, the First Infantry Division, the famed “Big Red One.”
I served in the First Infantry Division from 1988-1991 as a young capta...
Medical Marijuana for Autism
This past Saturday I spoke with the national leadership of the Young Republicans (YRs). I believe that the future of constitutional conservatism lies in the hearts and hands of these young people. We need to spend more time with them, and elevate them into prominence, positions of responsibility, and elected office.
Right before I spoke to the group, there was a panel discussion on medical marijuana use. Now, let me reiterate, I am a fella that has never smoked, drank alcohol, and certainly n...

Roll Tide: A Story of Character and Humility
Okay, as y’all know, I was born and raised in Georgia and attended the University of Tennessee. Therefore, I am not a big Alabama Crimson Tide fan. However, I will always give proper recognition and honor when due. Yesterday the #1 ranked Crimson Tide came back from behind in the second half, again, to defeat the Georgia Bulldogs. Last year it was in overtime for the National Championship, this year it was in the closing minutes to win the SEC Championship.
However, this missive is not about...
