The Tower of London: A Monolithic Chronicle of History and Intrigue
      Few edifices epitomize the kaleidoscopic tapestry of history as robustly as the Tower of London. Temple of Nehalennia
      In the river of the Oosterschelde near the village of Colijnsplaat parts of a Roman temple were found, the remains were dated from 180 - 250 AD.
 A replica of the temple was erected in Colijnsplaat. The original statues and pillars are preserved in the museum of Leiden, Rijksmuseum voor Oudheden. Some parts of the temple were found in Domburg, most were found in Colijnsplaat.
 The goddess Nehalennia was mainly worshipped in Zeeland, one statue was found in what is now Cologne (Germany) at the Rhine.

Tarbert (Gigha)
      A standing stone at the north of the isle of Gigha - it now leans considerably out of the vertical towards the east and the top is divided into two peaks by a deep indentation due to the weathering of a natural fissure. Said to be a prehistoric lunar observatory by Alexander Thom - see comment and simulation below on our page from David Hoyle supporting this.

Crousa Common
      A pair of standing stones, one of which has fallen, in The Lizard, Cornwall. Turn right at the crossroads about a mile out of St.Keverne on the B3293. At the first field gate pull in tight. Put on your wellies and across the very wet field are the stones. In the far hedge are stones on their sides which may have been part of a complex.

Walwick Fell
      A Romano-British farmstead in Northumberland sitting on a gentle south facing slope. Sited only 400 metres south of Hadrian's Wall, the farmstead is rectangular in shape, and the interior has been partitioned into a number of different areas and three hut circles can be made out in the interior.

Cnoc nan Gobhar Stone
      A standing stone beside the road on the north end of the island of Gigha. This stone has been moved and re-erected since prehistoric times however it's interesting that the top of the stone is angled at about the same angle as the setting moon. Goldkuppe
      The Goldkuppe hillfort is the largest prehistoric hillfort in Saxony. It was built in the bronze age (around 1150 BCE). Some ramparts are still 18m tall! Two other smaller hillforts are situated nearby. (see details via our page)

Weatherdon Hill Cairns
      Cairn Cemetery in South Dartmoor, near Butterdon Hill. At SX65405881 is a cairn 17.0 metres in diameter by 1.5 metres tall. At SX65055885 is a cairn 20 metres in diameter by 1.7 metres tall and at SX65165891 is the largest cairn which is 24 metres diameter by 1.8 metres tall. Shell Middens at Westward Ho!
      Mesolithic shell middens at the south end of Westward Ho! Beach near Bideford, Devon. The midden and preserved tree stumps were visible at an extremely low spring tide in 1988-89. Hazel nutshell and struck flints were seen eroding from the peat and clay deposits. No evidence of the middens remains today.

Crushterra ogham stone
      An Ogham stone in the townland of Crushterra, Co. Cork. There is a faint inscription on the SSE edge of the stone reading AFG/M(?)OLA. In rough grazing on a north facing slope. An upright rectangular stone (H 1.55m; 0.47m x 0.37m) with some packing stones exposed at the base; long axis NE-SW.
