When I write I feel a total sense of freedom. I can sit down at my computer with a totally bank mind (my usual state) and then three hours later a whole new aspect of a story has been created. Usually, I spend time planning out what I’m going to write, down to the smallest detail, yet there are times when the words just follow. From where, I do not know but it is a tremendous feeling of freedom when they do. Because I write fantasy, anything is possible. I don’t have to follow any rules, I just need to imagine. As a young lad I dreamt of new worlds and impossible adventures. Now I write about them. How much fun is that?(less)

Going for a wal…moreWriter’s block is not something I’ve had a huge problem with, but when ever the clatter of little words stop I try to distract myself. Going for a walk usually does the trick or a cup of tea while killing bad guys on the PlayStation is another favourite. If I get stuck for a longer period then I switch from writing to artwork. I usually try to make images of certain parts of my stories, usually landscapes. I find switching to a different medium really helps in clearing and re-ordering the mind. Not everyone’s forte, but it seems to work for men.(less)
