How to Find Meaning in Heartache

Feel It to Heal It

"Our emotional feelings are not there to be cast out or conquered. They're there to be engaged and expressed with imagination and intelligence."

Hello AWMS subscriber :

By now, ten weeks into the COVID-19 quarantine, you've begun to notice how stress and anxiety express through hurtful, negative emotions. There's sadness, grief, and loss, loneliness, despair, desolation, and even misdirected frustration and anger.

Because schools don't teach emotional intelligence skills, it may not have occured to you that emotional hurt and heartache have meaning and significance. In fact, the best way to release the feelings that irritate and frustrate us is to understand them.

Today we've posted the audio podcast, Quarantine Meditation #5 — a narrative to guide you to the insight and understanding you need to manage and release them. The full podcast is available wherever you normally subscribe, and an edited version can be found on our YouTube channel, The Ageless Wisdom Mystery School.

All Together Now

When Self-Interest Requires Serving the Greater Good

"We need leaders who appeal to us to think about something other than narrow self-interest but instead focus upon the greater good."

— Senator E van Bayh

Hello AWMS subscriber :

Self-interest can be a complex and confusing concept, especially in the context of shared or mutual interest. Rarely has there been a more urgent need to prioritize "the greater good" over self-centeredness.

We are equally vulnerable to this pandemic. Our true self-interest requires us to actively protect everyone. We will either survive together or die alone.

Here again we recognize the "bothness" imbedded in what may initially appear to be opposites — me or you! Do not put yourself first instead of others, but care for yourself to be of greater help to others.

The edited version of our last audio podcast and the fourth in our Quarantine Meditation series is now streaming on YouTube. Use these meditation exercises to boost your immunity, clear your mind, and open your heart to the self-interest in serving others.

Stay strong. Stay safe. Stay in touch.

Mindfully observing your thoughts

To Be the Witness Not the Thinker

"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."

Oscar Wilde

Hello AWMS subscriber :

This week's audio podcast is the fourth in our series called "Quarantine Meditations." In the first two, we learned to become deeply relaxed and boost our body's natural immune system.

Last week, we introduced a breath-watching exercise to expand awareness through mindful detachment. And this week, we develop our mindfulness practice by learning to observe our thought-streams without judgment.

Though few people ever consider it, there are clear differences between intentional thinking and the intrusive trains-of-thought that persist when we cease to think purposefully. Known as "task-unrelated thinking," these meandering streams of spontaneous ideas are usually negative and self-critical. More importantly, they are stressful and degrade awareness and understanding.

Subscribe to the Ageless Wisdom Mystery School podcast wherever you get your podcasts or listen directly from The Ageless Wisdom website.

Also, edited versions of the Quarantine Meditation series can be found on our new YouTube channel — The Ageless Wisdom Mystery School. Please leave comments and reviews to help other like-minded people discover these programs.

And click the yellow button at the top of this page to access my online calendar and schedule a free intro to my private counseling and training programs by phone, Skype, WhatsApp, or Facetime.

Thanks. Stay strong. Stay safe. And stay in touch.

Third in our series

Quarantine Meditation #3

"What day is it?" asked Pooh. "It's today," squeaked Piglet. "My favourite day," said Pooh.

Hello AWMS subscriber :

The third podcast in our series of Quarantine Meditations has been released from the Ageless Wisdom Mystery School. Our topic in this episode is mindfulness.

What does mindfulness mean? And what are its benefits?

Mindfulness is noticing what you notice. It is being aware of the fullness of each passing moment without labeling, judging, or analyzing.

The benefits are expanded awareness, also known as higher consciousness — a richer, fuller understanding of yourself and the external world.

Use the opportunity this pandemic quarantine provides us to begin a daily mindfulness practice. Regain the parts of your life given-over to reviewing past regrets and fears of the future.

The full, unedited Ageless Wisdom Mystery School podcast is available wherever you stream your podcasts. (Or use the links below.) Plus, an edited version featuring only the meditation exercise has been posted on our new YouTube Channel.

There's no need to allow stress, anxiety, and fear to torment you during these difficult times. Click the large yellow button at the top of this page to access my online calendar and schedule a time to call me by telephone, Skype, FaceTime, or WhatsApp. The initial session is free, and there's no obligation to schedule anything further.

Hope to hear from you soon. Stay strong. Stay safe. Stay in touch.

Second in our series

Quarantine Stress Reduction

" Your immune cells are like a circulating nervous system. It thinks. It's conscious."

— Deepak Chopra

Hello AWMS subscriber :

Time has begun to stretch as the global quarantine wears on. Weeks feel like months. And while cable TV, the Internet, and our bookshelves offer us plenty of entertainment, some days we just don't feel motivated to do much of anything.

At times, our energy may feel low. Perhaps hope is beginning to ebb. Will this ever end?

It will end, of course, All things pass on. Impermanence is a key principle of the way the Universe works.

But we must care for ourselves. We must explore ourselves to find personal meaning and initiate it as action in our lives — especially given our current self-isolation.

The second in our series of Quarantine Meditation podcasts is now streaming from the Ageless Wisdom Mystery School. Each episode contains a mini-philosophy lesson plus a unique meditation exercise.

On our new YouTube channel, we edit out the mini-lesson to feature only the meditation narrative.

The audio podcast can be found wherever you stream or download your podcasts as well as on our website at TheAgelessWisdom.com.

To access my online calendar and schedule a free, private telephone, WhatsApp, or Skype session with me, click on the yellow button at the top of this page. There's no obligation to continue with formal sessions, just some insight and help with your moods, attitudes, and challenges.

Best Natural Immune Booster

Quarantine Meditations

"Learn to be calm and you will always be happy."

— Paramahansa Yogananda

Free Private Phone Session Podcast Homepage Newsletter Archive

Hello AWMS subscriber :

I've been meditating for 46-years, and It's difficult to imagine who I'd be if I hadn't.

I know I'd lack the well-being and fulfillment my life affords me if I'd never learned to turn away from the world and focus within.

Now that everyone on the planet is enveloped by the stress, anxiety, and fear of the coronavirus, meditation has become an imperativel practice.

Uncertainty and worry degrade the body's immune system, leaving us open to the very illnesses that most concern us. The extraordinary stress reduction offered by meditation exercises boosts our natural immune system, increasing the likelihood of surviving a viral infection.

And so, I've begun releasing audio podcasts called "Quarantine Meditations" in our Ageless Wisdom Mystery School stream. Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts, use the links below, or simply visit the Ageless Wisdom website.

Remember to leave brief comments on those podcast players, apps, and directories that feature reviews. They'll help others find these important audio programs.

Be gently, love Life, and take care of each other,

Hello AWMS subscriber :

There's a special irony in the stress of worrying about the coronavirus and consequences of being quarantined. Stress and anxiety weaken our immune system.

We must manage our stress and support family members in the same ways. In that spirit, I will be posting a series of audio podcasts to our free Ageless Wisdom Mystery School web-stream.

If you haven't already subscribed, use any of the links below or visit our podcast website, The Ageless Wisdom.com.

I'd also like to give you a free PDF copy of my e-book, "Creativity, Confidence, and Courage" — a compilation of over 500 life-changing quotations from all cultures and all times. Please feel free to share this link with your like-minded friends and associates.

During these dark times, we'll be posting more podcasts and newsletters than usual, though we will not clog your inbox with superfluous daily or weekly blasts.

The values we share through our study of the world's Ageless Wisdom traditions will bring us together, literally boost our immune system, and support us emotionally and spiritually in these troubled times.

Be gentle, love Life, and take care of each other.
