✨ BOOK TOUR: The Fair Queen, by Lyndsey Hall ✨

Hello awesome nerds and happy Thursday everyone!

I hope you’re all doing well, I hope you had a great week so far and you stay safe, as well as positive!

Today I’m sharing with you something really exciting: a collaboration of mine with Literary Bound Tours and Lyndsey Hall, the author of The Fair Chronicles series! ✨

“The trees in Hartwood forest are hiding an ancient secret, a door into a magical realm where fairy princes and monsters are one and the same.

Seventeen-year-old Aria Colling is bored of her small town and dreams of a life filled with excitement and adventure. She’s about to learn you should be careful what you wish for.

After a chilling encounter at the local summer fair, Aria is ripped from her normal life and dragged through the Veil into the Fair Realm by a strange, silver-eyed boy and his band of fairy soldiers. They believe she is the legendary Fair Queen, the subject of a prophecy that promises to unite the war-ravaged realm and bring an end to the centuries-long conflict between the Five Kingdoms.

But it can’t be true. Can it?

Beset by terrifying creatures at every turn, and hunted by a tyrannical king who will stop at nothing to prevent the prophecy from coming true, Aria will have to rely on her wits if she’s to escape the Fair Realm with her life.”

The book was published on August 31, 2020, it is currently available on Amazon, both on Paperback and on Kindle, and the sequel to the series, The Solitary King, is scheduled to be released in 2021.

I feel extremely honoured that I was chosen to be part of the Literary Bound Tours’ team, and support a fellow author.

If you guys are fans of YA fantasy and fairy realms, then you should definitely check out this book.

Have you guys read The Fair Queen? If so, did you like it? If not, after reading the synopsis, are you planning on checking it out? Also, which is your absolute favourite fairy/Fae?

I look forward to reading all your comments, thoughts and feelings in the comment section down below.

Thank you all so very much for stopping by once again. It truly means the world to me and I want you to know that I most certainly don’t take your presence here for granted.

Have a wonderful rest of the week, dearies!

Till next time… Toodles! ❤

♥️ BOOK REVIEW: These Vengeful Hearts, by Katherine Laurin ~ Secrets are the most powerful currency of all! *SPOILER FREE* ♥️

Hello awesome nerds and happy Saturday everyone!

I honestly hope that this weekend is going to be far better than the previous one, and I’ll get the chance to do everything I want to AND relax, as well! It’s not too much to ask, right? I just want some peace and quiet, which is the exact opposite of what happened in the book that we’re going to discuss today!

As you’ve already figured out by the title of this post, today’s review is about These Vengeful Hearts, a YA contemporary/mystery novel, written by Katherine Laurin.

This was the featured book for the month of September in the Beacon Book Box, and I thought the time had come for me to mix things up a little bit, as I was reading a lot of fantasy lately. And honestly, it didn’t disappoint!

Anyone can ask the Red Court for a favor…but every request comes at a cost. And once the deed is done, you’re forever in their debt.

Whenever something scandalous happens at Heller High, the Red Court is the name on everyone’s lips. Its members–the most elite female students in the school–deal out social ruin and favors in equal measure, their true identities a secret known only to their ruthless leader: the Queen of Hearts.

Sixteen-year-old Ember Williams has seen firsthand the damage the Red Court can do. Two years ago, they caused the accident that left her older sister paralyzed. Now, Ember is determined to hold them accountable…by taking the Red Court down from the inside.

But crossing enemy lines will mean crossing moral boundaries, too–ones Ember may never be able to come back from. She always knew taking on the Red Court would come at a price, but will the cost of revenge be more than she’s willing to sacrifice?”

As this review is going to be SPOILER-FREE, I will mostly focus on the technicalities of this novel, aka writing style, plot and character development.

First things first, in terms of writing style, I very much enjoyed that this book felt fresh and really easy to read. With this whole High School drama thing and the PLL vibes flowing in the air, it was hard not to visualise everything and feel as if I were watching a movie. The pacing was really fast throughout the entire book, there was a fair amount of ups and downs, both on what had to do with the plot, as well as the relationships of the characters, and the escalation towards the ultimate climax and revelation was very well-done.

Coming back to the plot of the book, it reminded me a bit of All Your Twisted Secret, by Diana Urban, which I read earlier this year and really enjoyed! These revenge stories always feel like the cherry on top of the cake, because I know there’s gonna be a mind-blowing twist towards the end of the book. After all, everyone knows that, when seeking for revenge, you need to dig two graves!

And that was of course the case with These Vengeful Hearts, as well. Although I didnt really feel the climax of the first revelation about the main “villain”, the last one was EVERYTHING, and something I didn’t see coming.

Last, but certainly not least, in terms of characters and development, I loved the fact that there was a grand variety of characters in this story, both in terms of personality, as well as representation (POC, LGBTQ+, etc.). Yes, I have to admit that some of them felt like archetypes, but still, they played an important part in the story, they seemed to develop as the story progressed, and at the end of the day, they made the book seem interesting, funny at times and definitely one that like make you question of whether or not you should keep secrets from the people close to you, whether or not it’s healthy to stick to the past, and what you should do when you feel like you’ve started losing yourself in your quest for vengeance.

All in all, I very much enjoyed this book, ending up rating it with 4 out of 5 stars. I highly suggest that you check it out, especially if you’re fans of mystery books, the Pretty Little Liars series and vengeance stories.

Let me know in the comment section down below if you have read These Vengeful Hearts and if you have any other similar book recommendations for me.

Thank you all so very much for stopping by once again. It truly means the world to me and I want you to know that I most certainly don’t take your presence here for granted.

I wish you guys have a wonderful weekend, you stay safe and positive!

Till next time… Toodles! ♥
