A Very HOT FanFic

Hello awesome people and happy Monday everyone!

I hope you guys had a great weekend and you spent it exactly the way you wanted to! I took down the Christmas decorations (unfortunately), made some progress on my current reads and worked a bit on my writing projects. I also tried two new recipes and I’m really happy with how they turned out!

The thing I’m excited the most though is that this Tuesday, at 3pm PST/5PM EST, aka 1am EEST, my dearest Bree Barton, the author of the Heart of Thorns series, will be releasing her third book, Soul of Cinder, at a magical launch party, that will be held in the, equally magical, fifth kingdom of Zoom!

💙 A Year in a Beacon 💙

I hope y’all had a great week, even if it was slightly less magical than the previous ones, now that the holiday season is over. For me that was definitely the case and I do need to store away all my Christmas decorations, which will make me feel even bluer than I already am.

However, one of the things that truly brightened my week was that January 6th signified my one-year anniversary with Beacon Book Box!

For those of you who don’t know, Beacon Book Box is a YA monthly-subscription book box, in which every month you receive a new release, as well as a bunch of bookish items, focusing on a specific theme.

It’s been a while since I wrote a review here, but that was probably because I was in a reading slump, I wasn’t reading that many books towards the end of last year and the books that I actually read weren’t that interesting. Yet, all that changed when I started reading Chain of Gold, the first book in The Last Hours series, by Cassandra Clare.

As many of you know, Cassandra Clare has been my instant-buy author for many years now (I believe since 2010). And over the years I grew so fond of her characters and stories, that I truly wished these stories were real. But what am I saying? All the stories are true.

Most Anticipated Releases of 2021 ~ Part 2

I hope you had a great weekend and a great start of the year. And since I hope that things will continue improving, I thought it wise to share some more anticipated releases, for the second trimester of 2021.

With the first part if this section of post being available here, and without any further delays, let’s get to the book recommendations I have for you!

1. The Infinity Courts (The Infinity Courts, #1), by Akemi Dawn Bowman

This very intriguing book is supposed to be released on April 6th, 2021.

2. The Forest of Stolen Girls, by June Hur

This heart-stopping thriller is going to be published on April 20th, 2021, and it is one of the books I want to add on my TBR pile, as I decided to mix things up a bit this year and read various genres, just to keep things interesting.

3. She Drives Me Crazy, by Kelly Quindlen

“High school nemeses fall in love in this queer YA rom com perfect for fans of Becky Albertalli and Casey McQuisten.

After losing spectacularly to her ex-girlfriend in their first game since their break up, Scottie Zajac gets into a fender bender with the worst possible person: her nemesis, the incredibly beautiful and incredibly mean Irene Abraham. Things only get worse when their nosey, do-gooder moms get involved and the girls are forced to carpool together until Irene’s car gets out of the shop.

Their bumpy start only gets bumpier the more time they spend together. But when an opportunity presents itself for Scottie to get back at her toxic ex (and climb her school’s social ladder at the same time), she bribes Irene into playing along. Hijinks, heartbreak, and gay fake-dating scheme for the ages.

From author Kelly Quindlen comes a new laugh-out-loud romp through the ups and downs of teen romance.“

This looks like something I’m going to adore and I honestly can’t wait to read it. I mean, come on! We all need a little bit more laughter in our lives.

This beauty is going to be released, again, on April 20th, 2021.

4. Realm Breaker (Realm Breaker, #1), by Victoria Aveyard

“Who is left when the heroes fall?

Corayne lives at the end of the world. Year after year, she watches her pirate mother sail away to adventures she’ll never share with Corayne. So when a mysterious immortal and deadly assassin appear on Corayne’s doorstep telling her she is the last member of a dying bloodline, and the only one who can save the world, Corayne seizes the chance to have her own adventure.

It’s been years since the last time I read a Victoria Aveyard book, but I remember enjoying her writing style, so I’m going to give this one a go.

This is going to be released on May 4th, 2021, and it is the first book in what appears to be a new YA series.

5. Meet Cute Diary, by Emery Lee

“Felix Ever After meets Becky Albertalli in this swoon-worthy, heartfelt rom-com about how a transgender teen’s first love challenges his ideas about perfect relationships.

This gives me so many Red, White & Royal Blue vibes that I can’t help but smile every time I think of the synopsis.

It comes out on May 4th, 2021, and it is definitely one of my most anticipated releases of 2021.

6. In The Ravenous Dark, by A. M. Strickland

“A pansexual bloodmage reluctantly teams up with an undead spirit to start a rebellion among the living and the dead.

Ok, this looks mind-blowing and I really want to read more books with LGBTQ+ characters, so this looks like the perfect addition to my TBR pile.

This baby is being released on May 18th, 2021, and I highly suggest that you check it out, too.

7. The Nature of Witches, by Rachel Griffin

In all honesty, I feel like this synopsis gives everything away; especially for those who have read and watched Practical Magic. But if this is just a taste, I can’t even begin to imagine what’s going to happen next.

This book is going to be released on June 1st, 2021.

I know that this list is shorter than the previous one, but with so many unread books on my TBR pile and so many more about to be announced in the coming months, I’m referring solely to those I truly feel passionate about.

Plus, I want to start writing more reviews on the blog, and in order to do so, I have to start reading more of the books I already own.

Series You Really Need to Watch in 2021

I’m taking things slowly, one step at a time, but I wanna wish you all the very best and that 2021 is going to be a year full of health, happiness, love, great achievements, good books and movies, coffee, hugs and kisses. Yes, yes… I wish for all those things.

Still, since things are pretty strict right now, and will continue to be in the foreseeable future, I am going to be very cautious and not have great expectations. Which is why, today, I’m going to share with you some series that I believe will cheer you up a bit and keep you great company, while this quarantined life continues.

Shall we?

1. Bridgerton

Where do I even begin with this show?

I loved Bridgerton so very much! It was refreshing, funny, romantic and it reminded me, once again, that I would love to live in that era.

I didn’t know the show was based on a book series. But my dear friend Christina told me about it and now that I know that this is a series completed in eight books, I expect a second season; preferably sooner rather than later.
